Florida suffered severe damage from hurricane Milton, but things could have ended up much worse!
The forecast was a storm surge up to
15 feet, and it looked like the eye of the storm was headed straight for Tampa Florida!🙄
When I turned off the news, it was a category five. It was forecast to drop to a category three as it hit land.
Hurricane Katrina was also a category three as it made landfall!😮
The next morning I saw that it made landfall 70 miles South of Tampa, at Siesta Key in Sarasota County.
This is a smaller community of approximately 5,500 people, compared to Tampa with over 403,000 people…………….
Looking out across our Bay in the Pacific Northwest you can see land to the West.
The beautiful San Juan Islands!😎

On the Western side of these islands that are natural storm barriers, lies the open waters of the Pacific Ocean!
