"All I want is to play on the radio, to make my first million ..." sounded on the radio frequently in 2002, and many of us sang it in chorus, almost like a loud decree to see ourselves economically fulfilled, although we were more taken by the rhythm of this band that was just beginning to reap success.
Bacilos was their name. A trio of young people with not so deep lyrics at first sight, and a rhythm that fused several Caribbean genres, promised quite in my opinion.
After that success came a few more. Tabaco and Channel and Caraluna stood out just like my First Million
The nice thing about music is that it unites us in unsuspected ways, just as it did with this group composed of a Colombian, a Puerto Rican and a Brazilian, all gathered in Miami in the late 90s.
Like every band, or at least most of them, they started playing in nightclubs, until they had the opportunity to record. After that, the story has become somewhat turbulent and moved: they separated, returned, recorded 3 albums, tours, concerts, parties, separated again and then reconciled 10 years later, put together a few singles and one more album, one of the members left, and now they are a duo.
In all that time, the music was fading away. Although they had some songs stuck, they did not reach the success of the first ones. They are still trying and planning with new presentations, trying to recover the lost public and capture new followers.
Currently it is a duo that retains the same name, and although several moons have already passed, they maintain the charisma of the beginning and the hope of having a hit as successful as the one that took them back to make their first million in this new stage.
