BDC shorts- Day 2: Prompt of the day

image.png

We are back again with another prompt! the responses so far has been amazing! Thanks to all the participants who has joined us this time around. To show some appreciation, here are some of the shorts posts we loved from our previous prompt; "Things to be Grateful About."

1. @gone-hive

I am glad for my life; it has been an incredible experience to be alive on this planet. My upbringing started out well with my loving parents, but when I lost my mother when I was four years old, it was tough for me and my father to move on. But I've come a long way in my development into a fantastic young guy. I am glad for the wonderful qualities I have worked so hard to develop. I am grateful to be able to experience nature every day. I'm grateful for peace of mind; it's sometimes overlooked, but it's critical to have; else, life would be awful.

2.@minhajulmredol

Whether it's the reason for the freedom they have always given to me or the reasons for always being around me or it's my concerns about their well-being, my family was always the center for me to be grateful about.

3.@nonsowrites

I never miss an opportunity to show gratitude because it keeps me grounded. Often we get consumed with life and everything it throws our way and forgot about the things we have going on for us. It is quite easy to focus on the worst things in our lives rather than the good. So I would like to use this post to remind myself of the good things in life now.

4.@riz611

At present time, whenever I look back, I see that this is all I really needed in life. The rest simply didn't matter as much. Without my family, their support and those cherishable memories of ours, life would simply be meaningless.

Thank you fellow authors for submitting your wonderful shorts! We enjoyed it greatly.

Now lets move on towards todays prompt!

1. Talk about one of your favorite fictional/fantasy characters.

Growing up, we all developed an infatuation towards one or multiple fictional/fantasy characters, either because of their relatable resemblance, reflection of the desired life or, the undeniable massive crushes. Whatever the reason was, soon the characters invaded the boundary of our hearts and claimed the throne of the most favorite.

Pick one of those fictional characters and tell us how, why and who managed to win over your heart and mind, leaving an everlasting impression.

2. Which is your most favorite fictional/fantasy novel/series/movie?

Ahh, fiction and fantasies! We all have that one story we adore, now don't we? Let it be from a movie or a novel; there are some fantasies we adore and some fictions we hold close to our hearts. The Hobbit, The Witcher or The Amazing Spiderman, fiction and fantasy come in all shapes and forms.

So for this week, why not try and write about your most favourite one? Tell us why you love them, and why they stood out from the rest!

3. What is your ideal fictional/fantasy universe?

With a staff in hand, the wizard is running through the maze. Walls covered entirely of poison ivy, narrower than a cave created from violent shifts in tectonic plates, the maze smells of fear and defeat. But, if he wants to survive, he can’t stop running even for a moment. He needs to find the exit of this labyrinth, as on the other side awaits him the chalice of life. Even a sip can offer a sick man immortality. His feet are getting tired and weak, but ever so desperately, he runs.

She is waiting for his return, after all, lying on her cold bed, just seconds away from the Soul-reaper, who waits for her with a chilling smile. And it’s only him who can save her.

“Just a little longer, My dear daughter” He murmurs, forcing his feet to move faster, step after step.

See what a chilling setting this is? Fear, agony, power and despair! Fictions and fantasies have no bounds when it comes to world-building. So, get on with your pen and write down a scene, a description, or a story about your ideal fictional world, and give us a taste of your vast imagination.

Pick any one of the prompts and write a shorts using that.

Shorts must not be, well, big. We are looking for posts between 100-400 words, so let's try and keep it that way, fam.
Please use the tag #shorts on posts so that it's easier for us to find you. And if you put the word shorts in your title, then bonus points for you!
Try not to write about the same topic/prompt too often. Mix it up and have fun; that's all we ask.
Engage and talk to everyone. Praise your fellow short writers and encourage them to continue with their pieces. Let's all get to know each other while we are at it.
If anyone is found using reward apps on their shorts posts in BDC, they will be muted from the community. Repetitive actions will cause them to be downvoted, so please, refrain from using any reward apps on posts.

Thank you everyone! Happy writing!
