*It was a crazy December for everyone hence the late announcement; pasencya na po sa mga nagpasa ng entry. D'best kayong lahat!!!

Heto na! 📝

December holds a special place in our hearts. Here in the Philippines, we have the Simbang Gabi, parol, caroling, paputok, pamamasko sa ninong at ninang, noche buena, puto bumbong at bibingka, and manito-manita. It's easy to see why we love the holidays. Add on to these the endless traffic jams, crass commercialism, parties, and Jose Mari Chan songs and you get a nice view of how we spend the holidays here.

In keeping up with good traditions, we present the 3rd week of December's challenge that asked about Caroling Experiences (The pandemic took this away from us. Do you think they're coming back this month? Nangaroling ka ba dati? Sample naman.). While the 4th weekly challenge involved 2022 Recap and 2023 Plans (How did your year go? Naenjoy mo ba? May regrets ka ba? Reevaluate your year and plan ahead for 2023. Planning phase pa lang naman, di pa resolution breaking.)

But before that, and for those of you who don't know us, HivePH is a group of Filipino bloggers and crypto-enthusiasts with the mission of helping others, especially newbies, thrive here on the #Hive platform. The weekly blogging contest is one of the ways we aim to do this.

And, here are the entries:

3rd Week Entries:

1. Hive PH Week 3: Ang Star ng Pasko (Caroling Experiences)
Author: @usagidee

So speaking of this song, I have so many memories that I'm very happy to go back to. Up to now, I've been hearing it played for weeks. So that's it, during the times when I went with my younger siblings and my cousins, ang go caroling, I really remember how they left me in the air. Paano ba naman, sila lang yung taga hanap ng bahay na kakantahan namin pero kapag anjan na, hahayaan lang nila ko kumanta mag isa - with matching birit birit pa yan mars. 😣

And speaking of "Nangngaroling," When I heard these people singing Christmas songs in front of our store, I ran faster into my parents' room to take a picture of them. But then, they didn't stay long. There are some that, even if they only sing 2 or 3 lines, when you give them the money, they will just finish it and go to the next house. That is why they sometimes waited for them to finish the songs before they gave them the money.

3. Certified Pinoy - Caroling Memories.
Author: @themanualbot

By the end of the night, we had received a total of 800 pesos in tips if I remembered correctly. We decided to divide the money equally, which came out to less than 100 pesos each. As we walked home, I realized that maybe caroling with just one or two friends might be a better idea. It would be easier to coordinate and I would have a better chance of keeping all the tips for myself. Lol, it was the childish and selfish side of me that was kicking in at that time.

4."HivePH: My Caroling Experiences"
Author: @volleyren20

This happens one night of our "pangangaroling" at one of the Sitios of our Barangay. We all knew that one specific house that we planned out "na pangangarolingan" they have a dog outside their house. But still we proceeded to that house. I think the dog detected right away, when we were about to start singing, the dog approaches us angrily. One of our companions got stunned and ran off, so as us. And with that, we ended up running and chased by the dog. Gladly, some of the boys youth members managed to drive away the dog by throwing out some stones. Because of that incident, my parents didn't allowed me to join the Carolings anymore, so as with the others. Eventually, the group didn't do Caroling again and "dun nagsimulang nagkanya-kanya ang lahat."

5. Hive PH Wk 3: Caroling Experiences
Author: @jenthoughts

It's two more days before Christmas. Children are the most excited for sure. How about the adult? Hmm might be yes, might be no. For sure others haven't bought a gift yet and will buy it tomorrow or the next day. Others haven't bought the ingredients of the planned menu yet too. Some Filipinos are buying on late hours, are you one of them? I hope not because it could give stress most of the time.

4th Week:

1. Looking back for the whole year 2022
Author: @jenthoughts

Lastly, I am so glad that I was able to buy the cellphone that I need. It was just a wish, just a dream but now I had it in my hands. Thank you so much for everyone whoa re supporting me here in hive because I was able to buy it through my HBD.

2. 2022 Recap - Hoping 2023's best.
Author: @themanualbot

But not to brag, I had an incredibly successful year in 2022. First, I started the year off by getting married to the love of my life despite that I started the month of January being jobless. "Ikaw lang ata kilala ko na magpapakasal na walang trabaho"(You're the only jobless person I know that has the courage to get married) my wife said. But we have managed it and since then, we have been enjoying every moment of married life, lot of sacrifices and compromises taken.

3. HIVE PH Weekly Blogging Contest - Week 4: 2022 Recap and 2023 Plans
Author: @blip-blop

2022 is a huge year of mine. This year, I graduated senior high school. I was happy and sad at the same time, happy because now I got the chance to walk on the stage and get a medal which I was not able to do during Junior High School because of the pandemic.

4. I May Have Lost A Lot, But I Gained A Few That Could Be A Lot
Author: @jane1289

The most positive decision that I made this year is when I opted to be active on this platform. While my outside portfolio is decreasing, my portfolio here kept increasing, and I was able to establish a good profile. I may have regretted not doing it too soon, but what matters more is the right decision I have made, and I would do my best part to keep it growing.

5. 2022 Realizations - Financial and Personal Decisions
Author: @anonymous02

Overall, 2022 is a great year (well probably?) there's a lot of good things happened to me personally about learning more about myself. On the other hand, if we will talk on its economic side, it is obvious that we are moving downward which indicates a bad outcome to my investments (and for everyone).

6. Hive PH blogging contest Week 4: How was my 2022 and Goals for 2023 .
Author: @lhes

Overall , I can say, 2022 has been good to me. Even though there are some challenges and even cause rifts in relationships; still I survive. I just decided to forgive even though they doesn't ask for forgiveness, not because I am kind. It was just I was peace in my heart!

7. HivePH Week 4 Contest: "When My Optimism is Bigger Than My Losses and My Regrets"
Author: @ruffatotmeee

Overall, despite the challenges and bad decisions I made, I can still say that it was not a bad year for me. Because after all the problems, I can just laugh it all off. And with the optimism that I have, I know everything will be okay. It's not the end yet; it is just one of those hard steps that I have to go through.
