#Beersaturday: Some Are Good Some Are Bad Some Are Meh

Some might do dry January, we do beer Saturday! Today I enjoyed another gem from our southern neighbours in Eastern Flanders. This trippel is brewed by Brouwerij van Steenbergen. While some might know this brewery from De Gulden Draak or Piraat, this particular beer is one from their gold label series.

From this series, I managed to obtain the Fourchette. A trippel that ripens in the bottle. I found this beer, as often the case by "accident" in the local supermarket. I did drink the other brews from this brewery quite often so I was surprised by this beer. Especially since the label is quite different and stylish.

This trippel comes in bottle with stylish label.

This type of beer asks for a nice beer glass. And, as always, this calls for my local brew glass:

That looks tasty!

According to the website this beer is a sophisticated brew that pairs well with everything good. In their own words: Fourchette and exceptional gastronomy, that’s a perfect match! Although it was a nice beer, I wouldn't describe it as noteworthy. I guess perhaps they got ahead of themselves a bit with the marketing. But I think it was nothing more than just another triple. :D

I typically pick beers without too much thinking. It's a fun way to surprise yourself. This way you sometimes pick things that aren't amazing. But that's part of the fun! Next time I might get lucky with another gem!

Have a good one 🍻
