Ayer finalizó mi período de vacaciones de verano, hoy es el regreso a clases, y a pesar de que estos meses libres no pude aprovecharlos como tenía planeado, dado que sucedieron un montón de cosas no tan asertivas, decidimos que al menos podíamos culminarlo con una sonrisa. Y por eso, junto a mi familia, realizamos un corto viaje a un destino indispensable para los habitantes del Estado Lara, en Venezuela, el cual es las Lomas de Cubiro✨

Yesterday my summer vacation period ended, today is the return to classes, and even though these free months I couldn't take advantage of them as I had planned, since a lot of not so assertive things happened, we decided that at least we could culminate it with a smile. And so, together with my family, we took a short trip to an indispensable destination for the inhabitants of the Lara State, in Venezuela, which is the Lomas de Cubiro✨
Como ya saben, todas estas experiencias son gracias a la agencia de viajes Travelbqto, si te encuentras cerca de la zona, te los recomiendo con los ojos cerrados. Son excelentes personas, un servicio de calidad, y constantemente están planificando nuevas aventuras a distintas partes del país✨
Si vives en Barquisimeto, o en cualquier parte del Estado Lara, sabes que visitar las Lomas de Cubiro es algo importante. Un pueblo escondido entre las montañas, con un pasto tan verde y un clima frío, que es increíblemente necesario cuando estamos viviendo una época de tanto calor. Para nosotros, el viaje comenzó a las 7:30 am, que el autobús nos pasó buscando. Fuimos los últimos pasajeros en ser buscados, pero los primeros que dejaron en casa en el regreso🤭
Es un viaje corto, que vale la pena hacer. Pero debes prepararte para una subida llena de curvas, y barrancos a los alrededores. Aunque, a medida que vas subiendo, comienzas a olvidarte del calor de la ciudad.

If you live in Barquisimeto, or anywhere in Lara State, you know that visiting Lomas de Cubiro is a must. A town hidden among the mountains, with such green grass and a cool climate, which is incredibly necessary when we are living in such a hot season. For us, the trip started at 7:30 am, which the bus passed us looking for. We were the last passengers to be searched, but the first to be dropped off on the way back🤭
It's a short trip, well worth taking. But you should be prepared for a climb full of curves, and ravines to the surroundings. Although, as you go up, you start to forget about the heat of the city
A las 9:30 am ya estábamos llegando a las lomas de las montañas de Cubiro, y fue una hora maravillosa porque había muy poca gente. Pudimos tomar fotos con tranquilidad, escoger el lugar más apropiado para hacer nuestro picnic, y caminar tranquilos por todo el lugar. La guía nos explicó los restaurantes en donde iríamos a comer, dado que en el paquete de viaje ya estaba incluida la comida: cachapas con queso (icónicas del sitio), y fresas con crema para el postre.
Hay personas que dicen que en Cubiro hay bastante calor, y que por ende, no está tan bonito como antes; pero me alegra que esa gente esté equivocada. En la mañana había un frío excelente, no tan penetrante como el de Mérida, pero sí lo suficiente para congelarte las manos y disfrutar. Sin embargo, debes estar preparado para los vientos fuertes, preferiblemente no vayas con un peinado elaborado, porque se va a dañar😅
At 9:30 am we were already arriving at the hills of the Cubiro mountains, and it was a wonderful time because there were very few people. We were able to take pictures at our leisure, choose the most appropriate place to have our picnic, and walk calmly around the place. The guide explained to us the restaurants where we would go to eat, since the food was already included in the travel package: cachapas with cheese (iconic of the site), and strawberries with cream for dessert.
There are people who say that Cubiro is quite hot, and therefore, it is not as beautiful as before; but I am glad that those people are wrong. In the morning it was very cold, not as penetrating as in Mérida, but enough to freeze your hands and enjoy. However, you should be prepared for strong winds, preferably don't go with an elaborate hairstyle, because it will get damaged😅

Como había poca gente cuando llegamos, y las lomas estaban solas, éramos el centro de atención para los comerciantes, especialmente para el montón de perros que hay en el lugar. Y animal que se me acerca, con esa carita de felicidad, es un animal que necesito acariciar. Estos perritos corrieron hacia nosotros, colocaron sus dos patitas encima de mí, como si fuera alguien conocido para ellos. Sumamente cariñosos, juguetones, y mansos. Y en recompensa por su compañía, porque se acuestan contigo a hacer el picnic, obviamente debes darle comida.
As there were few people when we arrived, and the hills were lonely, we were the center of attention for the shopkeepers, especially for the many dogs in the place. And the animal that approaches me, with that happy face, is an animal that I need to pet. These dogs ran towards us, placed their two little paws on me, as if I was someone they knew. Extremely affectionate, playful, and tame. And as a reward for their company, because they lie down with you for a picnic, you obviously have to give them food.

Las Lomas de Cubiro es una ubicación para, principalmente, tener un día familiar o con tus amigos, solo para relajarte, comer y jugar. Tener una escapada de la ciudad, y de nuestra rutina diaria. No obstante, queríamos disfrutar al máximo el día, así que hicimos casi todas las actividades que hay en el lugar.
Paseamos a caballos, que es la actividad básica de ir a Cubiro. Ver a los caballos, tocarlos, tomarte fotos con ellos y pasear. ¿Aprendí a cabalgar? Aún me hace falta práctica, pero admito que no lo hice nada mal, aunque seguramente se deba a que el caballo conocía de memoria el camino, y en vez de guiarlo a él, él me guio a mí. También jugué, por primera vez en mi vida, Paintball, estaba muy nerviosa y casi no lo hago, pero son experiencias que deben vivirse, así no sepas cómo hacerlo. Fue agotador, pero muy divertido, y especialmente, fue liberador. Sientes que puedes descargar muchas cosas allí, no solo bolitas de pintura.
Cabe destacar que mi equipo ganó, gracias a que le disparé a mi madre. Y no me arrepiento🤣 Pero quedé más sorprendida al descubrir que mi puntería no es tan mala como pensé.
The Lomas de Cubiro is a location to, mainly, have a family day or with your friends, just to relax, eat and play. To have an escape from the city, and from our daily routine. However, we wanted to enjoy the day to the fullest, so we did almost all the activities that are on site.
We went Horseback riding, which is the basic activity of going to Cubiro. See the horses, touch them, take pictures with them and ride. Did I learn to ride? I still need practice, but I admit that I didn't do too bad, although it is probably because the horse knew the way by memory, and instead of guiding him, he guided me. I also played Paintball for the first time in my life, I was very nervous, and I almost never do it, but these are experiences that must be lived, even if you don't know how to do it. It was exhausting, but a lot of fun, and especially, it was liberating. You feel like you can unload a lot of things in there, not just paintballs.
It's worth noting that my team won, thanks to the fact that I shot my mom. And I have no regrets🤣, But I was more surprised to find out that my aim is not as bad as I thought.

Cuando terminamos de jugar, ya era mediodía, así que fuimos a almorzar en el Restaurante "Mi Casa", allí nos prepararon las cachapas que vienen incluidas en el paquete de viaje, pero de adicional ordenamos otras cosas, como una ración de cochino frito, y sopas: de gallina y res. Todo estaba espectacular. Y los acompañamos con unas maltas. Precios económicos, y excelente atención. Y aunque coma cachapas aquí en Barquisimeto, nada se compara a unas cachapas de Cubiro, el sabor es distinto.
Luego de reposar la comida, y tomar unos cafés de parte de la casa, volvimos al lugar del Paintball, pero en esta ocasión, para manejar Motos de Cuatro Ruedas. Creo que fue lo que hice mejor, Mario Kart me preparó para este momento, no me caí, no se me apagó la moto, pude subir y bajar sola las colinas, y me mantuve en el camino. Me sentí poderosa💫
When we finished playing, it was already noon, so we went to have lunch at "Mi Casa" Restaurant, where they prepared the cachapas that are included in the travel package, but in addition we ordered other things, such as a portion of fried pork, and soups: chicken and beef. Everything was spectacular. And we accompanied them with some maltas. Economic prices, and excellent service. And although I eat cachapas here in Barquisimeto, nothing compares to some cachapas from Cubiro, the taste is different.
After resting the food, and having some coffees on the house, we returned to the Paintball place, but this time, to drive Four-wheeled Motorcycles. I think it was what I did best, Mario Kart prepared me for this moment, I didn't fall, my bike didn't shut down, I could go up and down hills by myself, and I stayed on the road. I felt powerful💫

Después de eso volvimos a las lomas, nos acostamos un rato debajo de la sombra de los árboles, para hablar y descansar. A las 2:30 pm, fuimos a buscar nuestras fresas con crema, y sé que ya lo he dicho varias veces, pero también estaban deliciosas. Las fresas estaban dulces, y la crema estaba fresca. Mi madre compró dos plantas para agregarlas a nuestra creciente colección que decora nuestra casa. Seguimos caminando por los comercios, compramos más dulces para comer durante la semana. Y para finalizar, no podía faltar, comer un jojoto recién hecho🤭
After that we went back to the hills, lay down for a while under the shade of the trees, to talk and rest. At 2:30 pm, we went to get our strawberries and cream, and I know I've already said it several times, but they were also delicious. The strawberries were sweet, and the cream was fresh. My mom bought two plants to add to our growing collection that decorates our house. We continued walking around the stores, buying more sweets to eat during the week. And to finish, could not miss, eating a freshly made jojoto🤭

Como ven, no hay que subestimar el sitio donde vivimos. Puede que en mi infancia fui muchas veces a Cubiro, conozca el lugar, pero la persona que soy ahora es diferente a cuando era niña, y lo disfruté de otra manera. Es el claro ejemplo, que debemos volver a aquellos lugares donde fuimos completamente felices🩷
Me faltó volar papagayos, y habíamos planeado visitar la Cueva de Los Carraos, que sí es algo nuevo para nosotros, pero en esta ocasión no pudimos ir, dado que el chofer de confianza de la agencia, que lleva a los clientes para allá, no estuvo disponible este fin de semana. Así que, sin duda, continuará siendo un destino para tachar en mi lista de viajes, que espero visitar próximamente.

As you can see, we should not underestimate the place where we live. Maybe in my childhood I went many times to Cubiro, I know the place, but the person I am now is different from when I was a child, and I enjoyed it differently. It is the clear example, that we should go back to those places where we were completely happy🩷
I missed flying parrots, and we had planned to visit the Carraos Cave, which is something new for us, but this time we could not go, since the trusted driver of the agency, who takes the clients there, was not available this weekend. So, without a doubt, it will continue to be a destination to cross off on my travel list, which I hope to visit soon.
