I hope you are happy and healthy. Today i wlii share a delicious and easy-to-make recipe for Turae (ridge gourd) and Chana Dal (split chickpeas) curry. This nutritious and flavorful dish combines the tender texture of ridge gourd with the protein-rich goodness of chana dal, making it a perfect addition to your meal rotation. Let's get started!

๐บ500 ๐ medium-sized ridge gourds (Turae), peeled and chopped
๐บ 1/2 cup chana dal, soaked for 1-2 hours
๐บ1 medium onion, finely chopped
๐บ1 medium tomato, finely chopped
๐บ2-3 green chilies,
๐บ1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
๐บ1 teaspoon cumin seeds
๐บ1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
๐บ Salt to taste
๐บ 2 tablespoons oil
๐บ Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish

๐ Soak the chana dal for 1-2 hours. Drain and set aside.Peel and chop the ridge gourds into small pieces.

๐ In a pressure cooker, add the soaked chana dal with enough water to cover it. Cook for 1-2 whistles until the dal is soft but not mushy. Set aside.

๐ Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds . Let them splutter.Add chopped onions ,green chilies and sautรฉ until they turn golden brown.
๐ Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
๐ Add the chopped ridge gourd pieces. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes until the ridge gourd softens.
๐Add the cooked chana dal . Mix well and let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes so that the flavors combine well.

๐Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
