I LEFT THE TRENCHES, BUT I'M STILL FRUSTRATED - this is why

I just got a new (rented) 3-bedroom apartment with my friends. It costed us N300K/$550 (N250K per year, plus agent fees)

In there, I snapped the pictures below:

That was in my own room.

We parked in last Friday and ever since that Friday, I'm yet to have a good meal, as I'm not satisfied with all I've been eating.

The major reason for that is that we couldn't plan ahead.

Why the rush though?

Since they didn't chased us out of where we used to live (we had some days left), so I don't see reason why we were in rush.

But the reason is actually obvious, if I'm right...

It's a completely different place from where we used to live; a well-structured apartment with a living room (dining and parlor), running tap water, minimum of 16 hours electricity per day, serene environment, tiled floors, and also fenced - which we've always wanted.

That's the 'butterfly in the belly'...

I guess it's the excitement of the new feelings that got us in without much planning.

Over time, we will get used to the new lifestyle.

With my experience so far, I'm trying to get convinced if I'm really a foodie or not, lol...

Am I a foodie?

Even though I love and appreciate good food when I see one, I don't think I fancy food that much - I have a very weird appetite that I can be very okay eating once in a day... but in this new environment where you have to walk 'miles' before buying ordinary snacks, 'three-square-meal' is the new fuel...

On Saturday, the hunger I felt when I woke up was second to none (it was a busy Friday, no wonder the hunger)... I was shouting furiously, lol. I've never experienced such hunger before (maybe I did and I can't remember - that's human), not even when I'm fasting.

The same happened yesterday (which was Sunday). One of us cooked beans and I got served a very little quantity (see me complaining, lol)... yeah, my 'cook' friend in charge is that type that eats like a baby, so he easily assume everyone eats the same (even if you tell him a million times)...

Do you also have someone like that? Well, I won't be surprised...

He knew I eat very well, even if it's just once in a day... but he still went on to serve me the same as he did himself. I couldn't complain since I don't know how he got the beans...

I'm not sure if anyone can relate...

Like, I should have 'para-d', lol... but I didn't, even though I later found out there was some leftover. No, I can't eat that anymore, not after hours (that's who I am).

Even after eating the beans, I couldn't find strength to wander around in search of a POS point - that's another problem we will have to deal with.

From where we used to live, there were numbers of POS all around us.

I'm thinking maybe we should open a POS shop - that could be the start of our first 'venture' in a new environment 😀...

Yet another issue...

There is no bike around... before we could see a bike, we must be willing to trek to the main (tarred) road...

All these got me thinking maybe we can't get everything sorted, most especially things we can't control.

With the experience so far, I'm motivated and I came into a conclusion that by Monday if it requires crawling, I must find a means to get cash and stock up. I don't have a huge build, but I'm getting lean in just few days. It must definitely stop.

Did I mentioned it that we got locked out when we went out?

Probably, one of us forgot to take the keys to the gates with us. It was terrible. It was sunny, body was weak. Our neighbors were inside playing games, so we had to wait until the 'NEPA' took the light and that was after 2 hours under the sun, lol.

The exciting thing is that we will get used to it...

Over time, we will get used to the new environment. We will learn to stock up foodstuffs and refill whenever possible.

And maybe one day, we will be able to afford a ride...

No, no that slow... whatever type, but a Benz won't be bad though 😀

By the way, it is a really nice apartment we've got... compared to where we used to live, it is more inspiring to work from (which is very much important to me)... it is a new lifestyle, even though it will always come with its own 'challenges'.

Anticipate...

In my next post, I will gist you guys about "the trenches" where I used to live, even though I'm still in trenches - but an improved one, a 'semi-trenches', lol... I will also do picture workaround of the new apartment.

Thanks for reading thus far... If you have recommendation(s) for me, to make the new lifestyle a soothing one, kindly drop... Thank you.

If you are less busy and you wish to know more about the person behind this post, feel free to check out my introductory post...
