The Iron Woman

Love can offer attractive scenarios for many people. It can summon you to meet new minds, new territories, and ways of seeing the world. Being in another place and having the ideal person to do it could be an exquisite idea for anyone who likes adventure and repudiates loneliness, like Magnus; a talented and affable blacksmith.

He lived in a small town surrounded by nature; with greenish territories, flattened and well cared for, beyond the plain there was a small forest where only a few animals lived; like rodents and birds that ended their lives there.

Magnus had his workshop on a small farm that belonged to his father, after he died it became his and his brother's, and after his brother left for the city, the farm was left under his care. Since then, he has lived alone, dedicating himself to blacksmithing as his only skill. There was not much demand in the environment where he lived, as it was a small town, inhabited mostly by elderly people and few customers. Magnus longed to do the same as his brother; leave the farm and go to the city; maybe even meet a good woman, but really, he was not able to leave his home.

Magnus despite being a handsome man to most women, with a good physique and a pleasant personality, never had a girlfriend or felt the confidence to court someone. His whole life was dedicated to blacksmithing; His only ability and talent, besides that in the town where he lived there weren't many options either.

One day, he decided to make an iron wife to lessen his loneliness. He created her with precise details in his features; small eyes, bushy cheeks, an upturned nose, full and sensual lips, a small chin, and a good figure of straight hair. He made her with a slim and curved body like that of a nymph; with small and perfect hands, just like her feet. Magnus was surprised at his creation, unaware that he was a sculptor.

Proud of her work, he decided to give her more details. He fitted her with firm breasts with straight nipples. He painted her entire iron body with skin color and made the pupils of her eyes emerald color; like the same greenness of the plains. Her hair was painted brown as coffee and her lips copper as dawn.

To Magnus she was perfect, and once he finished it he fell in love with it. He still kept his mother's favorite nightgowns in his parents' old window. He took one of them; he still kept the smell of soap and perfume that always characterized them. He dressed the iron woman in her nightgown and it fit her perfectly. Looking at her, Magnus loved her even more.

He only needed to put a name and he called her Emma; Like the name of that girl Magnus liked when he was a teenager. After finishing it, he got drunk. In his mind he created a scene like that of a wedding ball; with beautiful white tables everywhere, where animated and smiling guests were seated. Behind them, there was a white curtain as transparent as a veil, and right at the foot of the curtain was a huge, dazzling white cake. Toward the back was an orchestra playing beautiful music with cellos, violas, and double basses. Magnus took Emma by her limp iron arms and made her dance with him in the middle of the dance floor.

She looked a little taller than him since she was on a small iron block that served as a base. Magnus was carried away by the hallucinogenic effects of the alcohol, the joy of finally having a wife and a wedding dance blinded him, until; In one terrifying move, he pulled Emma toward him to the ground and her iron-heavy body crushed Magnus. In the last minutes of his life, the young blacksmith was delirious with a kiss; received from his loving and beautiful wife.
