Last Prerequisite Before Land Expansion Starts Rolling Out Was Released

Non-card market (NCM) was the last prerequisite that needed to be rolled out before the first phase of the land expansion.

And it was added to Splinterlands during yesterday's maintenance window.

It is accessible through the Market menu on Splinterlands.

Right now, the Splinterlands marketplace has 4 tabs:

From those, Card Sales and Rentals are still using the old interface, but presumably, they will be migrated to the new interface (i.e. modernized tech) in the future.

The Land Sales tab is waiting for the land expansion to be populated. I imagine that is the place where Items and Spells will be traded.

I like how "LAND is COMING SOON" sounds. :)

The part that is already operational from the NCM is for the Other Items.

That includes:

Skins cannot be traded yet. The release notes mention more work needs to be done to include them.

Licenses cannot be traded on the NCM either, because they are slated to be handled by the SPS node validators, and the mainnet is not released yet.

What is new and couldn't be traded before are the titles. They are not cheap either, the first ones on the market. Right now they are mostly vanity holdings, but you never know when they'll have more use cases as they did in the SPS airdrop. In fact, I believe Matt said they will have more use cases on land.

With the addition of titles to NCM, many were surprised to discover a rare title called The Grandmaster. I was too, but now it's in the SplinterGlossary with the rest of them.

Tomorrow is December 1st. Aggroed said in one of the town halls devs will be working for about 2 weeks in December. Will there be enough time to roll out the initial phase of land, or that will come in January?

Their end-of-year promo for the rich will go on until December 21st. December 20th is on a Tuesday... So maybe at the limit, there are 3 weeks to roll out something for land. Realistically though, the last day when they would add it in December would be a week before, on December 13th. But rather than hasting it and doing a poor job, I'd rather wait until January.
