Chapter XV Draconian

Chiseled

When they left Mindy's house, Andrew and Angeline went to the subway station, after descending the escalators to the platform they talked about what had happened that afternoon in relation to the search of Thomas' belongings, being the first time he was in that subway station, a mural with a chiseled marine motif on the wall caught his attention now. It represented a pirate ship facing a storm in which sailors fought against the adversities of the sea. Thus he said aloud:

"You have looked at the wall, today in the afternoon we had magical moments in which the memory of your father has always been present, I did not expect that here the atmosphere evoked his presence."

(end 5 minutes)

Shackles

The train arrived at that time and because it was Saturday it came with very few passengers, so they went to their seats, there Andrew began to talk with Angeline about trivial matters so that she forgot for a while what had happened at her sister's house. In the wagon, an elderly couple talked animatedly about their grandchildren, Angeline paying attention to what they said, she neglect what their friend was saying, and when he realized that she was not paying attention to him, he was silent while they continued there. Through the loudspeakers the stop where they had to get off was announced, as they left the station they hurried to the hotel. Andrew had to attend another engagement so they said goodbye.

Already released from the shackles of that afternoon Angeline decided to go up to her room to rest, for that day it had been enough to have brought up so many memories of her late father. Already for the days to come she felt that her future would bring her many promises.

The sea of eternity

Mindy, the next day remembering the moment of her sister Angeline and Andrew's visit, reflected on how lucky she had been to have the happiness that her father lived with her the last days of her life. Although he had not been with her during his childhood and adolescence, his presence had always floated in the house. Her mother always told her about the loving man that had been for her, and her mother never held a grudge for leaving her. Knowing how hard she was, many men had proposed that she marry them, but she was always faithful to the sailor who was part of her life.

So Mindy thinking now of the love that her mother had for Thomas, he also was corresponded since, despite the time that had elapsed, he decided to return and reconnect with his past to finally find that his beloved had died but that he had as compensation the affection of his daughter, she who took care of him with care until he left on the last final trip to the sea of eternity.

Financial operation

Andrew, as he now has the sheets of Thomas's diary recorded on his mobile phone, he passed them to his laptop to analyze them with a computer program that always helps him in that kind of delicate task. It only took half an hour to pass the information to the computer and for it to analyze it, there began to reveal moments of Thomas's life that were attractive. There he had described in detail the trips he made, the people he had met and where he had made stops while traveling the world. One of the issues that caught Andrew's attention the most is that he detailed a financial operation in which he had invested all the money earned from his responsibilities as a sailor who was guarded by a bank on a Caribbean island.

There, he also regretted the sour moment he had when he was imprisoned on the island where he had lived all those years serving an undeserved sentence that had distanced him from his beloved wife and daughter Mindy, but despite this he thanked him to the life having put on his way to Mary the mother of Angeline who helped him overcome the misadventures of those times. He detailed that being on that island and as a result of that draconian decision, it had been impossible for him to return to recover his fortune that with the sweat of his blood he had obtained in the first years of his life.

Andrew, reading all this, had to interpret it correctly to will give the information to Thomas's daughters, he realized that the task that they had to carry out from now on had hints of adventure, and a happy result could be reached.
