Understanding the meaning of second helping is quite new to me. This would be my first time of making use of this phrase, and it looks interesting. So, I had to do a background check in other for me to understand the phrase very well so I can use it.
The second helping means a second portion of the same thing. Which in this case, we are talking about pudding.
I'll give a few background on pudding below:
The original pudding was formed by mixing various ingredients with a grain product or other binder such as butter, flour, cereal, eggs, and/or suet, resulting in a solid mass. These puddings are baked, steamed, or boiled. Link
