If I had the resources to buy an autonomous car, I probably wouldn't. Why? There are several reasons, including a few that will be discussed below.
But, to begin with, I would prefer to learn to drive myself, because I like to be independent. And I feel that if there is a vehicle at home, it would be simply ridiculous for me to have to rely on someone else or something else to drive it.
I can imagine any scenario where it could go wrong and not according to plan.
Although I would like to clarify, for those who do not know, that there is a car automation rating, which is based on how much intervention a human being has to have in the driving process, where 0 represents that the person has to do everything and 5 that artificial intelligence is capable of solving every situation that arises, at least in theory.
Speaking of the levels of automation of these cars, I think I would feel safe up to a level one or two, which is what so far is seen more in the market. Since a level five would be full automation, and I would not feel safe in a situation over which I have so little control.
Is your area conducive enough for such a vehicle?
The area where I live is not conducive for even a normal vehicle. 😂 Just kidding. I would guess that due to factors such as bumpy roads, lack of traffic lights in good condition and poor security against crime and an abundance of irresponsible drivers as a result of poor implementation of laws, it is not very feasible to use these.
In the event of an accident, who is to blame: the vehicle owner? Or the company that promoted the car as smart?
Of course, it depends. Again we resort to thinking about how automatic the car is. If it requires mostly human intervention, the blame would still fall on the driver who broke the rule, either accidentally or deliberately. In the case of a high level of automation, it would fall on the company, because a car that boasts such features should not be put on the market if it could be a danger to anyone.

La zona por dónde vivo no es propicia ni siquiera para un vehículo normal. 😂 Es broma. Yo supongo que debido a factores como las carreteras accidentadas, la falta de semáforos en buen estado y la poca seguridad contra la delincuencia y la abundancia de conductores irresponsables a raíz de la baja implementación de las leyes, es poco factible la utilización de estos.
En caso de accidente, ¿quién tiene la culpa? ¿El propietario del vehículo? ¿O la empresa que promocionó el coche como inteligente?
Por supuesto, depende. De nuevo recurrimos a pensar qué tan automático es el carro. Si requiere mayormente la intervención de humanos, la culpa seguiría recayendo en el conductor que se saltó la regla, sea accidental o deliberadamente. En caso de un nivel alto de automatización, recaería en la empresa, porque un automóvil que ostenta tener tales características no debería de salir al mercado si puede constituir un peligro para alguien.
