a thin ray from the low december sun slid between two buildings and landed on some ice in the canal in the harbor. even though all the boats were in drydock the winter bubbler was in operation. it kept some water from freezing but only in small areas . these sparkles are reflections from tiny bubbles in the sea ice at the edge of the open water
