Between bars and bricks | My entry for #Monomad Challenge [ENG-ESP]

Hello, Hive black-and-white photography lovers!

Today is a strange day, heavy with a stark atmosphere born of the heat and the lack of electricity—feelings reflected on the faces of the few passersby visible in the city. Perhaps that is why I found myself unconsciously focusing on details of my surroundings, and by chance, I stopped before the iron grilles that appeared along my path.

Wrought-iron grilles that invite thoughts of the creative magic of blacksmiths of old, or the time and sacrifice behind such hardness transformed into the beauty that adorns and protects homes.

I also wanted to capture the iron grilles in their relationship with the bricks, playing with the convergence of iron and clay—both forged in fire, yet shaped by different firing processes.

The fact is, beauty itself may be right there, just off the path. We need only lift our eyes from the ground, look around, and pause with a discerning eye.

And so, I bid you farewell with a warm, radiant embrace, until the next black-and-white frame.

Hoy es un día raro, cargado de una atmósfera férrea por las sensaciones que el calor y la ausencia de electricidad refleja en los rostros de los transeúntes que apenas se perciben en la ciudad. Tal vez por eso me encontré, inconscientemente, fijándome en detalles del entorno y quiso lo causal que me detuviese ante las rejas que el camino me iba mostrando.

Rejas que invitan a pensar en la magia creativa de los herreros de antaño o el tiempo y sacrificio detrás de tanta dureza transformada en lo hermoso que adorna y protege los hogares.

Rejas que también quise capturar en su relación con ladrillos, jugando con esa convergencia entre el hierro y el barro, ambos sumergidos en el fuego, pero con procesos de cocción diferentes.

Y es que la belleza en sí misma puede estar ahí, justo al lado del camino. Solo tenemos que levantar la vista del suelo, mirar hacia algún lado y detenernos con perspicacia.

Así, me despido con un abrazo de luz a cada uno de ustedes hasta un próximo fotograma en blanco y negro.
