It feels so nice engaging in this month challenge @gardenjournal.
Towards the end of August, we had a great harvest of melon. It all came out fresh and big.
Myself, my mum and our neighbour's little boy did the gathering and it was fun!.
We were supposed to plant beans in August after harvesting the maize and the melon but due to low rainfall, we had to wait because to the unusual rainfall in the past few months.
Some farmers who planted beans in August blamed themselves as the weather changes. There was little or no rain and therefore their beans didn't appear. It felt like we're moving into dry season as the breeze was blowing hot everyday and the sun was too scorchy. The bad weather also affected many people in my area health - wise but ee still hope for the best.
Boom!, it rained. September came with warmth and very cool atmosphere and I was personally happy. I knew the month will be nice!.
September rain came earlier than expected. I make sure my beans are planted immediately after we had a heavy rainfall. It rained almost 5hrs that morning. The next day I dashed off to our garden for planting.
Two days later, my mum had all the weeds sprayed with chemicals to clear off bushes before the beans start growing.
We awaits super harvest between the next two months!
I pray for normal rainfall and sunlight in this period.
