Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing great and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
So today I wanted to talk about another card that honestly surprised me a bit.
The card is Fenmoor Wood Troll, a common Earth unit from the Rebellion set.
At first glance, it doesn't really look like one of those flashy cards everybody talks about. But after looking at its abilities and seeing it in action a few times, I started thinking,
"Wait a minute, this thing is actually kinda annoying to play against."
And honestly, annoying cards are usually good cards.
Fenmoor Wood Troll costs 10 mana, which is definitely not cheap.
Its stats at max level are:
3 Ranged Attack
4 Speed
10 Health
5 Armor
Those numbers are pretty decent. The speed especially caught my attention because 4 speed is enough to make enemy attacks miss sometimes.
At first I thought it was just another ranged damage card.
But then I looked at the abilities,
And wow, there is a lot happening here.
Wingbreak: Always targets the first Flying enemy unit regardless of position, abilities, or modifiers. +2 damage if the target has Flying.
This one is interesting.
Fenmoor Wood Troll will always target the first Flying enemy unit and even deals +2 damage if the target has Flying.
So cards relying on Flying for survival might suddenly have a very bad day.
Blind: All enemy Melee & Ranged attacks have a 15% higher chance of missing their target.
This ability is one of my favorites.
All enemy melee and ranged units get a higher chance to miss.
Missing attacks can completely change battles.
Sometimes one miss is enough to turn everything around.
Headwinds: -1 ranged power to all enemy units.
Simple but useful.
Enemy ranged units lose one attack power.
Against ranged teams this can make a huge difference.
Small debuffs sometimes have massive impact.
Affliction: 50% chance to apply Afflicted after a successful attack. Afflicted units cannot be healed.
Healing strategies are everywhere.
And Fenmoor Wood Troll has a 50% chance to stop healing after a successful attack.
That's really annoying for tanks with Heal or cards depending on support healers.
What I like about Fenmoor Wood Troll is that it doesn't focus on only one thing.
It attacks.
It weakens ranged enemies.
It makes attacks miss.
It punishes Flying units.
And it shuts down healing.
That's a lot of utility packed into one common card.
Honestly, for a common card, that's kinda crazy.
I think Fenmoor Wood Troll is one of those cards people might overlook because it's only a common card.
But abilities matter more than rarity sometimes.
And having Wingbreak + Blind + Headwinds + Affliction on one card makes it surprisingly versatile.
It won't carry every battle by itself.
But it can definitely make life miserable for your opponent.
And honestly, cards that make opponents frustrated are usually doing something right.
Anyway thats it for todayβs #splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
