Fenmoor Wood Troll is a deadly monster, and if you position it correctly in battle, it becomes a disaster monster that keeps eliminating enemy units. In Splinterlands, you may have noticed that there are some monster cards that have good Armor and Health along with strong Ranged Attack, meaning you can use them as a secondary tank.
From there, it keeps dealing damage to enemy units with its power while also supporting its allied units through its abilities. Normally, the job of a tank or secondary tank monster is to continuously absorb damage because of its high Armor and Health while dealing damage to the enemy through melee attacks.
But today I will talk about Fenmoor Wood Troll which is a ranged attacker, yet if you place it as a secondary tank, it has good Armor, good Health and abilities that continuously support its allied units.
First let’s talk about its visual appearance... As you can see on the character card it is a wooden character shaped like a troll. It has two long front teeth and its hair is golden in color, rough, and spiky.
Its entire body is made of wood, and in its right hand, it is holding a stone as if it is about to attack the enemy units and destroy them. Its visual display looks very impressive.
Now let’s talk about some of its special stats and abilities and why this monster card is so important that you should add it to your deck. First of all, Fenmoor Wood Troll belongs to the Life element and is a Ranged Attack monster.
Its mana cost is 10, so you can select it in mid to high mana battles. It is preferable to use it in high mana battles because in low mana battles it will consume too much of your mana cost, leaving you with fewer opportunities to select additional monsters...
Since it is a ranged attacker, at Level 10 it has 3 attack power, which it uses to attack enemy units every round. If an enemy unit has 6 Health, it can eliminate that unit in just two rounds.
As mentioned earlier, you can use it in the secondary tank position because it has 5 Armor. The purpose of Armor is to keep protecting Health. Any ranged or melee attacks will first break the Armor before reaching the Health, except for Magic attacks, which directly hit the Health.
Along with that, it has 10 Health, which defines its survivability. It can survive in battle for at least three to four rounds, which is enough time to eliminate the enemy. Again, it also has 4 Speed, which increases its attack speed and at the same time helps incoming enemy attacks miss more often.
These were its main powers. Now let’s talk about its four special abilities available at Level 10. At the starting levels it has fewer abilities but once you upgrade the card to Level 10 it gains four special abilities that make it even stronger.
The first ability is Wingbreak. Wingbreak means that if the opponent has any monster with the Flying ability, this monster deals extra damage to it. As the name suggests, it is a wing breaker, meaning it keeps dealing increased damage to monsters with the Flying ability.
Its second ability is Blind. What happens with Blind is that it increases the chances of the opponent’s attacks missing. Whether the enemy uses melee, ranged or magic attacks, this ability works to make those attacks miss. The more attacks miss means the more its Armor and Health remain protected. That is why it can also be considered a support monster as well..
Its third special ability is Headwinds. With Headwinds, all of the opponent’s ranged attack monsters have their power reduced by one. If the enemy team has four ranged attackers, all four of them will lose one attack power, resulting in less damage after they attack.
Its fourth ability is called Affliction. Once Affliction is applied the affected monster cannot be healed. If that enemy monster is under the effect of Affliction then even if its allied units have healing abilities, it will not receive healing, meaning its Health cannot be recovered. This completely shuts down healing strategies.
These are the four special abilities that define the power of this monster. Keeping all these things in mind, adding this monster to your deck is an excellent choice.
I would recommend that instead of buying this card, you rent it because its price is quite high compared to the card itself. If you check its maximum level there is no price mentioned here, but if you want to rent it, it will cost you around 11 to 50 DEC per day for this card.
