Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
Alright, time for another #Splinterlands card spotlight!
Today I wanted to look at a card that is pretty simple on paper, but I think can actually be quite useful in the right lineup.
The card for today is, Daigendark Hunter.
This is a Rare Death unit, and at max level 8 it has 2 abilities:
Sneak
Silence
Only two abilities.
But honestly, sometimes you don't need a card to have 4 or 5 abilities to be useful.
Sometimes you just need the right combination.
And Daigendark Hunter has one of those combinations that immediately makes sense.
It can attack the enemy's backline with Sneak, while also reducing the magic power of the entire enemy team with Silence.
So basically, it can attack from behind while making enemy magic teams weaker.
Not bad at all.
When I first looked at this card, the first thing that stood out to me was obviously Sneak.
Sneak is one of those abilities that I always like having available because you don't have to fight through the enemy tank first.
Instead, you can go straight after the unit sitting in the last position.
And that's important because the last position is often where opponents put their squishier units.
Maybe it's a magic attacker.
Maybe it's a support unit.
Maybe it's a healer.
Whatever is sitting back there, Daigendark Hunter can go after it.
And that can create some really annoying situations for the opponent.
They might have a huge tank sitting in front thinking everything is safe.
Meanwhile, their backline is getting attacked.
Sneak: Targets the enemy unit in the last position.
Let's talk about Sneak properly.
Sneak means the unit targets the enemy unit in the last position.
This sounds simple, but it can be extremely useful.
A lot of battles aren't just about destroying the enemy tank as quickly as possible.
Sometimes the real danger is sitting at the back.
You could have an enemy healer keeping the frontline alive.
Or a strong ranged attacker slowly destroying your team.
Or maybe a support unit providing buffs.
If you can remove that unit early, the entire enemy formation can start falling apart.
That's where Daigendark Hunter can be useful.
Instead of wasting attacks on the frontline, it starts applying pressure somewhere else.
And if you combine it with other Sneak attackers?
Now things can get really interesting.
You can potentially overwhelm the enemy's backline before their tank even gets close to dying.
Silence: -1 magic power to all enemy units.
The second ability is Silence.
This one reduces 1 magic power from all enemy units.
And I actually think this ability is what makes Daigendark Hunter more interesting than just another Sneak attacker.
Because you're getting some team-wide utility at the same time.
Imagine your opponent has several magic attackers.
Normally, those units could be doing serious damage every round.
But with Silence active, every enemy magic unit gets -1 magic power.
That can add up pretty quickly.
Especially when the enemy has multiple magic attackers.
You're not only attacking their backline, you're also making their magic damage weaker.
That's a pretty nice combination.
This is probably my favourite thing about Daigendark Hunter.
The card isn't trying to do ten different things.
It has a very simple job.
Attack the backline + weaken enemy magic.
And honestly, I like cards that have a clear purpose.
You know exactly why you're putting it into the lineup.
If the opponent is using a magic-heavy team, Silence can provide value.
If they have an important backline unit, Sneak can put pressure on it.
And if they have both?
Even better.
That's where I think this card can really shine.
Personally, I think Daigendark Hunter makes the most sense when I expect the opponent to have a vulnerable backline.
Especially if I think they're going to use:
Magic attackers
Healers
Support units
Ranged attackers
Squishy backline cards
Those are the types of units you really want to pressure.
And Silence makes the card even more useful against magic-heavy setups.
It's basically like getting two jobs done with one card.
Things I like:
Sneak lets it attack the enemy backline.
Silence reduces magic power across the enemy team.
Good utility against magic-heavy teams.
Can put pressure on healers and support units.
Works nicely with other Sneak cards.
Has a very clear role in a team.
I especially like the fact that Silence affects all enemy units.
You're not just weakening one target.
You're potentially reducing the magic damage coming from several enemies.
That's pretty useful.
There are some downsides too:
Only two abilities.
Silence isn't very useful against non-magic teams.
Sneak depends heavily on what the opponent puts in the last position.
Needs the right matchup to get maximum value.
Probably isn't a card I'd use blindly in every battle.
After looking at Daigendark Hunter properly, I think this is a pretty interesting Rare Death unit.
It's not super complicated.
It doesn't have a massive list of abilities.
But the two abilities it does have actually give it a pretty clear purpose.
Sneak gives it offensive pressure.
Silence gives it team utility.
And that's a combination I can definitely see myself using in the right battles.
The biggest thing is matchup selection.
If I see a magic-heavy enemy team with an important backline unit, I'm definitely going to consider Daigendark Hunter.
Because why fight through the tank when you can just go around it?
Anyway thats it for todayโs #Splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
