Splinterlands - Some Serious Card Sales Transactions..

Around a couple weeks ago while watching the Splinterlands open market for cards I noticed on peakmonster.com that a player @enginewitty had put up his entire collection of Splinterland cards into seven groupings. Each one specific to a splinter and over the course of the next few days it remained on the market. However with some slight discounts from @enginewitty it appears he has completed most of his sales.

Screen shot is the Life splinter collection he has left to sell of but majority have been sold and sold at what I would believe as one of the highest prices in history of the game. Although the cards were sold in bulk the sum was a large amount.

In total $127k plus his death splinter collection for what enginewitty disclosed was $26k USDC. For a grand total of $153k just with the sets alone. He will take home around 95% of that. The collections of cards were pretty deep as it appears majority of the cards from alpha to untamed and most reward cards were max level cards. The sales although were high were considered at a discount of more than 20% by market standards if cards were sold individually.

Liquidity Validates Splinterland's Market Cap

Often when something rises in price it leaves me to question how real is the price appreciation? In other words how much buyers / supporters are willing to pay at the higher levels? This is important to know because sometimes the purchase is a one and done and there is a gap in majority of bidders from the asking prices.

In short I was really curious if enginewitty was going to be able to sell his collection even with the significant discount he was giving. The sales prove that there is actual buyers out there willing to support Splinterland prices at these levels. The sales validated it and although 3 out the 7 sets were bought by an individual the others were sold to separate individuals. This to me appears to prove that multiple players were willing investing into Splinterlands where market cap now is close to $200 million and still climbing.

If your curious go to @enginewitty's blog to see for yourself as his most recent posts have been explaining his process of Splinterlands cards. Its amazing to see he was able to successfully sell his cards in bulk giving many other top players and big collectors proof that they too can potentially sell closer to current market cap prices.

I had to post this because I believe this type of sale has put Splinterlands on the map to be a real lucrative investment. Since beginning of the year card prices have soared. Now large sales of cards and at high prices compared to last year has come to fruition. I personally believe there will be a lot more sales in the coming months at higher prices from here as the open market has proven now that there are buyers willing to pay upwards north of $20k per Splinterlands' card transaction.

For today there is close to $400k in cards sold through open markets. This does not include trades done outside the Splinterlands' market. Just insane.
