A gorgeous sunny winter's day, and Sushi with one of my favourite people, for sure is a recipe for success!
Durban Tourism's favoured winter slogan rings so true:
DURBAN - THE WARMEST PLACE TO BE
...in winter, they mean, summertime is way warmer, and there are several slogans for that:
DURBAN SUMMER IS ENDLESS
GOODBYE WINTER! WE WILL TELL SUMMER ABOUT YOU.
A dear friend needed eye tests done by her opthalmologist and was not allowed to drive afterward. So I drove her there.
She in turn grabbed the opportunity to spoil me for a belated birthday lunch at the Seven Seas Sushi Bar in the vibey Florida Road.
I have to go back and will take a walk along that road as there are loads of photo opportunities in this road that is teeming with the young and hip at night.
We would have sat outside in high summer, but it was way more cosy inside as there was a slight chill in the air. This was taken from inside the little sushi bar.
We were warmly welcomed by the manager, who made us feel at home and gave us a rundown of their specialties.
As they also serve Chinese food, we were given the proverbial fortune cookie with a forgettable phrase insideπ
The only mass-produced food served here!
The menu was quite extensive with exotic dishes ranging from Sushi, Thai, Chinese, and Teppanyaki.
We came for Sushi, so our eyes were fixed on that page, and both liked the sound of the Sushi Platter for two, 24 pieces at only ZAR240.
Salmon Roses - 8 pc
Prawn Avalanche - 8 pc
Prawn Bean Curd - 4 pc
California Roll Tempura - 4 pc
While waiting for our food, we were given a taste of Chinese Egg-fried Rice, which was super tasty, and a nice little appetizer!
The Sushi was super fresh, delicious, and great value for our ZARs!

As I was taking photos of our food, Mo offered to take pics of the two of us and a short video.
The verdict: we will for sure be sailing to Seven Seas again; attentive service from the waitress, Mo made us smile, and the Sushi was served in a jiffy.
And...
The bonus was that we ordered a Cashew Nut Noodle Stir-fry from the Thai menu to take home for dinner, so there was no need to take out the cooking pots that evening! The stir-fry was delicious.
Good food and special friends are the best companions for sure!
Thank you, my friend <3
