A Taiwanese bowl of goodness for my lunch

There's a particular food stall that remains one of my favorites to order from: Wen Li's Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice! They are located in Golden Mile Food Centre, which is a convenient place to go because it's in the city center and there are plenty of food options to choose from. A variety of cuisines is probably the best selling point of that food center, and I like the quality of the food they make.

Although Taiwanese cuisine may not be the most popular in the city right now, I'm still glad that more and more stalls are offering it. I think it has the potential to become as popular as South Korean cuisine, but I guess it will take a few more years to gain popularity in the Singapore food scene.

About this Taiwanese food stall that I order from, they offer two main sets. I got myself Set A, which comprises white rice, braised minced pork, cucumber in chili sauce, a soft-boiled egg, and chicken popcorn.

What impresses me about this stall is their focus on maintaining a high level of quality in the few dishes they sell, providing what the customer deserves. While some stalls try to accommodate as many dishes as possible in their menu, it seems that quality often suffers because of it. There aren't many food stalls brave enough to offer just one or two dishes on their menu and still sell out. But this stall has managed to do so, which only means that the quality of their food is really that good.

Each item in this set brings flavor and taste that make up the whole dish. Of course, I think the star is the braised pork. It has a rich flavor and is very tasty as well. It's minced but still manages to hold its texture, like tender bits of pork meat and fat.

The next item that I like is the soft-boiled egg, which was perfectly cooked and flavorsome because it was well-marinated.

The braised pork rice set from Wen Li's stall at Golden Mile Food Centre showcases the potential of Taiwanese cuisine in Singapore, with each carefully prepared component contributing to a flavorful and satisfying meal. This focused approach to quality over quantity demonstrates that sometimes less is more in the competitive hawker scene, as evidenced by the stall's popularity and ability to sell out despite a limited menu.

My journey to the world of food.
