Water dripping from leaf to leaf, mist coming and going like ghosts, and the warm scent of wood mixed with the moist soil. It was a luxurious blessing.
It's been a long time since college. Since 7 years ago, the last time I entered the forest area and camped. After graduating from college I went to the big city for work and never visited the forest again.
Luckily, after years of surviving in the big city to create my version of happiness, now I can enjoy the forest atmosphere! Oh, thanks, GOD!
Get Out of My Comfort Zone
To be honest, over the years big cities have shaped me into a person who prefers to stay in skyscrapers. Looking up at the sky and the sunset between the skyscrapers already makes me happy.
So when a friend of mine asked me to travel to mountainous and forest areas, at first I was hesitant. Plus, the trip was on a motorbike to speed up that time.
Finally, I want to go on that trip. We headed for Berastagi Area, the center of tourist attractions in mountainous areas. I took myself out of my comfort zone. Indeed, it was the most exhausting journey I've had in years. Ehehe, but I need that!
SIERRA COFFEE
On another blog, I will talk about the main destination in Berastagi, namely Sikulikap Waterfall. Meanwhile, in my post this time, I will tell you about a cafe in the tourist area of Sikulikap Waterfall.
Woody, damp, dim light, also fog. We will be greeted by those elements when it comes to Sierra Coffee. The place was dominated by wood that looked like it was firmly connected to the core of the main forest, without any boundaries.
Wood and other materials are only used as tools to make it easier for visitors to rest in this place, after being tired of tracking to the waterfall site.
I think that is the best idea. If other materials are added to the cafe's design, it will actually damage the existing natural elements.
Seating and tables made as simple as possible. Also with the roofs. Don't worry, the rains that often fall in this forest will not wet us directly. But visitors will feel the peace of the rain in this forest. That's for sure, and I've felt about it!
The fog comes and goes. I can't guess. When I just entered this cafe, there was no fog. But when my food arrived, the fog also came as if to say congratulations on enjoying the food at that place. The first time experience in years I was not greeted by the humidity of the forest and also the mysteriousness of the fog.
FOOD AND BEVERANGE
Sierra Coffee offers main course meals and snacks, as well as coffee and tea. I am quite amazed at this place, there is a menu that is complete enough at least to replenish the energy of the visitors who have gone through the waterfall track.
I chose Chicken Teriyaki for the main course. Although I could not choose more, I am quite grateful for this main course because I really needed the energy at that time.
The Teriyaki sauce is quite good, at least enough to cover the shortcomings of the chicken itself which I think is undercooked, and not to my taste.
Next, for a drink and as a friend to relax for a while, I have Ginger Tea! I can say this is the best Ginger Tea in a long time!
They serve a cup of ginger tea that is strong in spices and with delicious coconut sugar. The ginger is crushed enough so that it creates a spicy and warm taste for the body. This was the right choice this time than hot coffee :).
When I want to continue my journey home, I still feel the good effects of a warm cup of ginger tea.
