Greetings Foodies Bee Hive!
Good day to everyone! I hope you guys are all okay whatever you do and wherever you are in the world.
Today, I am going to share with you a recipe that I like so much. This recipe has lots of variants but when I found out my preferred taste of this healthy recipe I haven't changed it ever since. This recipe is called Chop Suey. Chop Suey is a dish that mainly consists of vegetables combined together. It is commonly cooked with an oyster sauce but I prefer evaporated milk over oyster sauce because it gives creaminess to the dish. The cooking time of this dish is about 25 minutes including the frying.
- Cabbage
- Carrot
- Young Sweet Corn
- Chayote
- 140 ml evaporated milk
- Bell Pepper
- Onion
- Garlic
- Powdered Black Pepper
- Cooking Oil
- Salt

Young Sweet Corn
Bell Pepper
Chayote
Onion
Garlic
Evaporated Milk
Chicken Liver and Heart
Powdered Black Pepper
1. Fry the chicken heart until golden brown then set aside
2. Fry the chicken liver for about 30-seconds of if it becomes light brown in color then set aside.
3. In the same cooking oil sautee the onion and garlic
4. Add the chayote
5. Add the young sweet corn
6. Add the fried chicken liver and heart
7. Add 1 cup of water then add 3/4 of the 150 ml evaporated milk (set aside the remaining milk. we will use it later), at this point the soup has become creamy, let it boil
8. Add the cabbage when the chayote and the young sweet corn is about to be cooked.
9. Add the carrot when the cabbage is about to be cooked, I prefer my carrots to be half-cooked that is why I added it later. If you don't want your carrot to be half-cooked you can add it after you add the young sweet corn. When the carrot is now half-cooked turn off the heat then add the remaining evaporated milk and it is done.
Enjoy this dish creamy dish with rice or you can eat it on its own.
