In this life, some people will just come into your story and leave a mark that time can never clean. For me, that person is my secondary school teacher, Mr. Daniel. I can never forget that man because he really change my life in ways I didn’t even understand that time.
When I was still in school, I was not that serious type. I was just playing football every day and doing anyhow. I even fail some exams and almost gave up on myself. Many teachers just call me lazy boy, some even say I will not make it in life. But Mr. Daniel was different. He always see something in me that others didn’t see.
He will call me after class and say, you can do better than this. You are not a failure, you just need small push.” That word stay in my head forever. One day he give me a small book, The Power of Determination. I didn’t even like reading before, but he tell me, “Just try this one.” I read it, and something change inside me. From that day, I start to try harder.
There was one time things was very hard for me at home. I couldn’t even afford lunch. Mr. Daniel noticed and started giving me food and sometimes small money from his pocket. He said, “Don’t worry, one day you will also help another person.” That kind heart, I will never forget.
He didn’t just teach English or Maths, he teach us life. He show me that being good to others doesn’t cost much, but it can change somebody’s whole life. When I later passed my exams, I went to thank him, and he just smiled and said, “I told you, you can do it.”
i t was very sad for me when he died two years ago, but up till now, he guides with those words that time. Sometimes when I feel tired or want to give up, If remember his face and his voice i feel up and life again.
Mr. Daniel was not rich, but he gave me something bigger than money. He gave me confidence and hope. That’s why I can never forget him. He was truly the light that shine in my dark days.
