December 24 2024 ,a day I will never forget.Everyone was busy preparing for Christmas the following day. There was excitement everywhere, and I was happy too because I was planning to do my hair for Christmas.
I had no idea that this day would become one of the saddest days of my life ,a day when I would lose something I deeply valued: my virginity.
I had a male friend. He was not my boyfriend , I could called him my best friend or bestie We were very close, and I trusted him. I never imagined that he could have bad intentions toward me.
That day, he called me and asked me to come to his house , I did not suspect anything. I thought we were going to talk about our plans and how we would have fun on Christmas Day.
I went to his house without knowing what he had planned for me.
What happened there is something I will never forget.
The person I trusted turned that trust into something painful. A place I entered without fear became a memory that still bothered me till today. I left that day carrying emotions I did not know how to explain pain, confusion, fear, and disappointment.
For a long time, I kept everything inside. I kept asking myself why I trusted him and why I had not seen his intentions. I blamed myself for going to his house, even though I was only going to see someone I considered a friend.
But with time, I began to understand something important, trusting someone does not make me responsible for the wrong choices they make. The blame belongs to the person who betrayed my trust and crossed my boundaries.
That experience changed me. Up until now, I still find it difficult to make male friends. Sometimes, when a man tries to get close to me, memories of that day come back, and I become afraid that the same thing could happen again.
December 24 will always be a day I remember. It was the day I learned that not all your friends has good intentions. And it was also a day I learned that not all friends you should trust.
I cannot change what happened that day. But I can choose not to let that painful experience define the rest of my life.
I am still healing. I am still learning to trust again, especially myself. And perhaps one day, I will be able to look back at that day without fear, not because what happened was okay, but because I will know that I survived it.
