It's everyone's dream to get married and raise children. On several occasions I have wished my children will grow up with certain traits but this I understand will have to do with their childhood programming. I grew up under the care of my grandma, she was a woman who didn't spare the rod, she disciplined me when she needed to and at some point she also showered me with love. She ensured a balance was reached between pampering and disciplining me, and this had helped me while growing up. I understand a lot has changed from the parenting of the 1990s to the current parenting and that the world is evolving but a part of me still prefers how children were raised in the old with strict discipline and morals.

Just like my grandma, I wouldn't spare the rod, at an early age they should understand what's wrong and what's right, so that when they grow up, they won't depart from those teachings. I'll try to expose my children to the world of the rich and the life of the poor no matter my position at that time. I didn't grow up with a silver spoon, I understand what it means to be in need and it's one of the reasons why I respect everyone who works genuinely with their hands. My children should understand what it feels like to suffer, so that they will respect the poor even in their abundance and probably have a sympathetic heart to help the needy when they come across one.

Even though the educational system is gradually fading, I'd like my children to have the best education. If possible fly them outside the country to enjoy the luxury of a standard education. I wouldn't be bossy to persuade them into studying anything, I believe every child has a dream and interest, I will allow them choose a career of their choice and only guide them when the need arises. One thing I never got while I was growing up was a fatherly love, I don't know how it feels like, never got that from him. But I'll ensure I allow my children to enjoy a fatherly care and attention and give them a glimpse of what it truly means to love. Finally, I'll ensure I give them more advice about life as a whole, which includes both about relationships, finances, honesty, dignity, health, etc. The first place to learn should be home and nowhere else.
