You are an athlete? You need fresh figs!

Why are fresh figs so healthy for those who make their everyday lives physically active?
If you are active in sports, you should try figs in any case, because they score with their healthy ingredients. A fig delivers around 38 kcal and 8 grams of carbohydrates in the form of fructose. It contains numerous minerals, especially potassium, magnesium and calcium, and is very rich in vitamins. Thus, the fig is especially important for athletes, as they ensure, among other things, that the muscles function smoothly.
You can easily halve figs and spoon them out. But how do you recognize the ideal degree of ripeness of fresh figs? Do the pressure test: If the fig shell softens slightly with light finger pressure, the fig is ripe. It is important that the fruit should be soft, but not mushy. Figs have a very fine shell and are therefore very sensitive to pressure. Stored in the refrigerator, fresh figs only last a few days. So do not let the little powerhouse wait too long in the fridge.

And what about dried figs?
They provide the same ingredients as fresh figs, but these were concentrated by drying. A dried fig then weighs no more 60 grams, but only 20 grams, and thus provides per gram more calories or more energy. The mineral content also increases and makes dried figs a healthy sports snack in between.
