Yee Ha!! Do I have a treat for you today. What’s better than a Krispy Kreme Signature Ring? Well an Original Filled Kreme donut, that’s what!!
Krispy Kreme - Original Kreme Filled Ring

When I saw this one advertised, I knew I had to get my ass into gear and straight down to my local Krispy Kreme cabinet. I love an Original Glazed Donut, but I have never had one filled with kreme before. Dare I see what it’s all about? Yeah, of course I do. This donut looks exactly like an Original Glazed but it has the stripy white icing on top. I can see what they’re doing here, I like it. The donut was as fluffy as ever as I thought with the filling, it would weigh the donut down a bit. It didn’t. As I took my first bite, it was just like eating an Original Glazed ring. Then I opened my eyes to inspect the filling. The kreme in the middle was so white and smooth and fluffy too. Just pure kreme. Yum! I thought the kreme would make the donut too sweet as the OG is pretty sweet on it’s own. The kreme wasn’t over powering, it was just a nice little addition to a perfect donut. A bit like having garlic bread to go along side pizza if you see what I mean.
At first I was worried that Krispy Kreme might just ruin one of their most famous and classic donuts. It’s rather clever how they get the kreme into the donut too so with every mouthful there is kreme and no empty bits. I don’t think I could eat the same amount of the Kreme Filled ring as I could with the Original Glazed. They fly down the hatch. This one definitely has a bit more effort. Nevertheless I’m quite partial to a challenge. Maybe I should set myself one.
