Lettuce and fish soup

Among all types of road-side cart food, lettuce and fish soup is my favorite. Since half a decade ago, it has been a common memory of many people. Although we do not have cart food operate on road side nowadays, we can still have this soup in some restaurants, usually in lower-income district.

It is not being served in high-class restaurant not because it is not delicious but it is cheap. Customer is happy to pay over $100 for a bowl of ramen but definitely not for any types of cart food, no matter how delicious it is. It is the economy and the "prosperity" that drive our good old food to extinction. The question is are we happier than before?

Back to the soup, it is very very important to add a lot of sesame oil and pepper. In the luxury version, we also have chilli pickles that makes the soup more chewy and tasty too.
