I'd like a proper discussion.
We used to play games with rules. Now we call each other fascist for using the rulebook.

Learning to Play Go: A Simple Guide
Recently, after a discussion in the comments of one of my posts, I found myself explaining the basics of Go to someone who wished they could play. Inspired by that exchange, I decided to create this guide

I tried playing a game of Go for a change.
I set up OBS, in case I want to do some streaming, but it was a little bit late, so I tested it by recording a game. I didn't talk in this one so don't get your hopes up. I ended up winning the game, but

An Eventful Day
Today was a very cold day for a late March day. It was -15 C in the morning. I played simultaneous games of go against @gamer00 and his son at the go club today. @gamer00 took a seven stone handicap and

Even Games With Our Local 1 Kyu And Chess With Miro Today
I'm black in this one. Komi: 6.5 points. Slow steady development in the middle game resulting in black being in the lead by over 15 points. Here, the lead was about 10-15 points. Here's the beginning of

Go And Go-Moku At The Go Club
I'm giving @gamer00 seven stones here. I think he was off to a good start. The corner was big but the power he got in exchange was valuable, too. This game ended in a jigo (a draw). We both had 27 points

Kanikuutonen/Rabbity Six Is Over
Today was a much better day for me. I won both my games. My first game. I was black. 14 points for black on the board minus komi equals 7.5 points. This was against a 2 dan. My fifth and last game was

Kanikuutonen/Rabbity Six Go Tournament
It's been a few years since I last took part in a tournament. The tournament has been named after the largest shape inside an opponent's group that reduces the space inside to a single eye and thus kills.

Lost A Big Group And Lost
Gave six stones to @gamer00 and got the group in the middle killed. A reminder not to create heavy groups in a handicap game. Well done @gamer00! This is a borderless go board. Every point has four neighboring

The Game Of GO As A Self-Improvement Tool
Introduction I'm going to talk about how emotional states and clinging to things degrade performance in a game of Go. Basic emotions like fear and greed - when not under control - can be really detrimental

A Three-Stone Handicap Game Against Leela
Leela is a near pro-level AI. Let's see if I can win as black. K17 was followed by the marked stone. Leela likes taking the corner, which it did this as a response to Q10 by black as well. It's pretty

A Three-Stone Handicap Game Vs. Leela
Leela is an AI whose level is close to professional level depending on hardware. The choice here for black is between blocking at D17 and C16. I think D17 is better because after giving white the corner

Taking Three Stones From Leela (AI)
Leela began by playing the marked white stone. Black's approach at q5 was followed by the exhchange in the lower right corner. Then white approached black's corner at o17, which led to the peaceful exchange.

An Even Game Against Leela As Black
Interesting. White (Leela) played sanrensei, too. White played a kakari at o17 but black played the narrow pincer which broke the symmetry. After the corner exchange white played kakari at the market stone.

Three Stones As Black Against Leela
Ok, here we go. This is not a very good position for black. I was listening to an interesting podcast while playing - speeded up by a factor of 1.5 to 2. That may show in the poor fuseki. But then again,

Two Stones As Black Against Leela
