something i noticed on my first drawing that worked out well is, using just one color and leaving mostly white is enough. and color or shade only a small portion of the whole image. just like in this sketch I colored the leggings purple to avoid it looking drab and losing all the details. i was tempted though to color the small hat and the bag but i hold off and it paid off.
I decided to draw a woman with extra details like a handbag and a hat. maybe she attended a garden society meeting so she wore this classic dress with print. look how happy and smug she looks and i think this is a success hahahaha whatchathink?
