What started as a quick warm up using line art sketch ended up turning into something that has some potential .I was playing around with exaggerated silhouettes, sharp and pointy angles, and heavy-lidded expressions when this character practically manifested herself on the canvas. What do I do with it I'm still figuring that out.
This sketch although a warm up practice, turned into a full character design that I’m really excited about. Maybe I can tone the witch vibe a little down unless I use her for Halloween or witch kind of theme.
To start off I want to give her a name that's it. Guys pls meet Agnes, oops not that name. Hmmm need something different. Meet Mourganthia. She lives the mundane, everyday world with big questions or thoughts with too much weight. Could be her time spent standing in line at the checkout or staring at her reflection on a tinted car window. she views every small, boring routine as a deep riddle. Beneath her tattered cape, pointed boots, and whimsical hat, I imagine her to be a caring figure at heart who has seen it all, cared about some of it, and now simply survives the absurdity of life with a quiet, unimpressed smirk.
The beauty of Mourganthia Leur Vondys is in the contrast. She carries an insanely dramatic first name and a soft, floating middle name everything glued together by Vondys which sounds as administrative as a government notice. Weh weh l. Did you like her name?
Excited to show you what she gets up to next
