Teh tarik or pulled tea (I don't know is this a correct term for teh tarik) is very significant in Malaysia.
The taste of the tea become much better after being "tarik". The combination or the ratio of the condensed milk, tea and water must be precise and correct in order to get a good taste a cup of tea. People nowadays may have the machine to shake or stir to make the solution of the tea blend together. But this traditional method is still being use because theres a difference in taste if you are using this method.
How I made my own tea
- 2 spoon of dry tea leaves (I used Boh brand)
- 2 spoon of condensed milk
- 4 spoon of condensed creamer
- 180 ml of hot water( around 92°c - 98°c, just assume it)
The procedure
- First, put the hot water in a cup that contained dry tea leaves.
- Closed it for 2 minutes and then separate the tea leaves by using a sieve (pour it into another cup).
- Mix the condensed milk and condensed creamer. Then stir it using a spoon.
- For the final step, just pulled your tea into another cup/glass/container just like in the above picture ( it easier to use a big cup/container to prevent the spill).
Then enjoy your tea. I prefer to enjoy my tea alone at the night time. Its like a theraphy, sitting outside my house and get blending with the nature. With the cold breeze, the smells of the fresh air while thinking about the future.
