Back again for #BeerSaturday while settling in on a halloween and the oncoming autumn! Our good friend @detlev is alive and well but perhaps still sleeping off a few sessions with his tripel!
This week, I am looking back on some spooky looking beers for Halloween.
The Pint of the week is usually a social beer enjoyed out on the town, one of the best ways to share a pint. This week, I am looking back with fond memories on a Pint of the Week at Revival House, a wonderful place that has been sold to a new owner. It is now known as Bijou at the Church but these pints will always be Revival to me.
The Horncackler!
This scary looking brew is perfect for halloween drinkin'! Badlands Brewing is obviously a favourite of mine as it says IPA Factory right on their welcome screen. Horns and yellow eyes are scary enough for Halloween!
What is a Horncackler? A fantastic story from the imagination of a 3-year-old! Horns (obviously) with grizzly black fur, big claws and teeth, huge size and stick-breaking power! Definitely a hazy 6.5% monstrosity perfect for Halloween celebrating.
Pumpkin Ale!
Every year at this time, we are innundated by pumpkin everything. I am not really a fan. So, when I see a pumpkin ale, I am compelled to try it just for the season. You might expect me to dislike every one of them as adding nasty slimy pumpkin guts to beer should not produce good results. Funny thing is, I have never tasted a pumpkin ale I didn't enjoy!
Paranormal Imperial Pumpkin Ale is extra halloweeny with its spooky design and scary 10% ABV.A nice malty body and menace enough that you wouldn't want to have more than 1 in a sitting! I can almost smell the brewery with the spices and pumpkin scents wafting around as they brewed this beer. So glad they did so I don't have to defile our brewers with pumpkin!
Brewing up Some Fun!
Today, we are pulling a Scotch Ale off fermentation. Brewmaster is calling it a Wee Heavy and it is clocking in at a stiff 10% abv with plenty of sugars still in the wort. Can't wait to sample this one!
#BEERSaturday!
Would you look at the time! Apparently time for a beer.
Let us celebrate the season and the return of our stalwart leader @detlev by sharing our beer stories for #beersaturday! All are welcome!
