We all sang our hearts out to Rio, by Duran Duran, as Dad drove us to Devon on our yearly summer holiday. None of us could hear each other over the billowing wind blasting through the car in an effort to make it less of a sweat box, but the small Ford Focus rattled under the sheer volume of our singing voices. Our suitcases were strapped to the roof of the car with bungie cords, we were staying in the caravan park for two weeks, so I’d packed my Gameboy with Worms and Tetris ready to go at a moment’s notice.
Jenny was going to be there; we’d spoken all throughout the year over the phone and I couldn’t wait to see her. A quick spray of deodorant in the under carriage and I was ready to go for our midnight meet-up outside her Mam’s caravan. I wasn't going to miss out on losing my virginity this year – even Harry King lost his last Summer and he’s a spacker.
