The clouds crackled with excitement overhead, full of energy ready to be released. The truck sped ahead towards the eye of the storm, rattling the measurement apparatus in the boot.

“Two more minutes and we’ll be at the centre of the tornado!” shouted Tom.

“Drive any more erratically and they’ll be no point of us even getting there in the first place, you prat!” Gary cursed under his breath as the truck flew over another speed bump. “Jesus Christ, Tom!”

     “Sorry!”

Rain crashed against the windshield as the wipers flicked back and forth impotently. They could barely see the bonnet of the car, but Tom surged onwards to the centre of the disaster. Checking his watch idly, Gary gulped the accumulating saliva in his mouth.

“Two more minutes and we’re going to be cleaning my sick out of the aircon.” Gary wiped the sweat from his forehead, trying his hardest to maintain his composure, and keep his lunch down.
