That feeling of warmth sat outside on a summer’s day,
It soaks into every bone, every pore, and every cell,
I woke in the glow of the sun,
A crisp feeling that grazed against my senses,
The loneliness of life,
The emptiness of fear,
The warmth that fills my body.

A step into the outdoors,
Where the birds sing to their lovers,
And children cry to their mothers,
The pain of a bruised ego,
The quiet of grace,
The sorrow that fills my heart.

We walk into an abyss,
Free floating to an end that cares not,
Who asks us for our wants?
My life,
My fear,
My warmth.
