Christmas is approaching and the cold freezes even the leaves of the plants, the streets sound desolate, you can only hear the creaking of a door that opens and closes very often.
This time Pablo is writing a book where his characters become involved in a world that comes to life and disappear day after day.
The center of the whole plot is a girl who practices cartomancy and brings the people of the city full of fear and uncertainty.
A young man of about 23 years of age arrives at his door looking for answers after trying with the doctors, he had contracted an uncommon disease, he looked fragile and his fingers were in pure bone.
Catering, which is what her name is, told her not to worry anymore because that night the pain and anguish would disappear if she goes outside. The incredulous boy hesitated and left mocking in a hurry and when he went to cross the avenue a truck hit him and he died instantly.
Later another young woman arrived in despair because her boyfriend had abandoned her for another girl minutes before her wedding. Catering told her that a divine power had played in her favor by taking her away from him because that same week her ex's house was going to catch fire and both of them were going to burn like in hell, it happened the same way.
There were dozens of people who came and went looking for answers, instead they came out with misplaced faces and cold looks.
Thus, people were disappearing in that place that had lost its common sense and was manipulated by letters.
Many were moving away, people no longer wanted to know anything about their past, present and much less the future.
Catering was left alone in front of her only company, a mirror, where the silhouette of death was reflected.
Pablo really did not know how to end his story and was exhausted after several nights locked in his office surrounded by books, crumpled leaves and discouragement.
When I opened my eyes I was right in front of Catering who was not a human figure but an immobile silhouette with a fixed gaze that scattered ink everywhere as if claiming something pending answers.
What do you want from me?- Pablo asked pretending an unsettling calmness.
I want it to be clear to you that there is not always an end, that many times there is someone who needs to continue on his way, that the life of one does not determine the beginning or the end of the other.
Pablo's face took an unexpected turn seeing how his reflection faded in the mirror, as if he himself were part of his own story, it seemed that the ceiling was going to fall on him.
The lights were blinking leaving space to observe the cold darkness of the street and the bodies of the missing people walking like zombies.
Pablo squeezed his eyes for seconds and when he opened them he was in front of his book, with pale skin and tired, dark-eyed eyes, his story was no longer the same, no one dictated futures, or death sentences.
Catering was just a girl who was also looking for answers in a room full of lights and a board that simulated the Card of Swords.
I close the book and leave the last page with the simple phrase "To be continued".
