Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
Now known as the Unit Review Library! Here is the current Library Link post!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Space Wolves incoming!
As explained in This post about new reveals at Adepticon the Space Wolves are suddenly being launched and dropped on our heads suddenly!
Thus my time for reviewing their Datasheets is running out. I have 34 Reviews to do, I am trying to maintain a fast pace so I will give myself 17 days including today to complete all of these. That means that the last day of this personal challenge will be the 15th of April 2025!
Today is Day 4/17.
I have reviewed 8/34.
Time elapsed: 23.52%
Review Completion: 23.52%
On Par!
Beyond them looms another 85 reviews of the Coming soon section! I better get cracking!
Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $264 to pay off!
Every bit counts!
Back to the review.
The whole project has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
671 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #332, I am 339 reviews behind! (Lowest I have been is 314 behind)
Space Wolves, Iron Priest
10th Edition Index
An Iron Priest is the original title for the Space Wolves Techmarine. Back in the day it was very similar to me calling my Librarians Runepriests but he does have his own datasheet.
His abilities are identical to those of a Techmarines but he comes with different weapons.
I do love this guy. I use him to great effect in both my Ironstorm Spearhead and my current Dreadnought Slowgrow army.
He costs 60pts to field and costs $37 to buy!
Let's check their stats and abilities!

Abilities
Blessing of the Omnissiah
During the Command phase, select a vehicle within 3" of the Iron Priest. That vehicle regains D3 wounds and gets +1 to Hit when it makes and attack until the start of your next turn.
Iron Priest
When this model is within 3" of one or more Adeptus Astartes Vehicle, he gains Lone Operative. (This means that he cannot be the target of a shooting attack unless the attacker is within 12" of the model)
Vengeance of the Omnissiah
If a friendly Adeptus Astartes Vehicle is destroyed within 12" of this model, increase the number of attacks on this model's Tempest Hammer to 6!
Thoughts
So, for a tank/dreadnought army, the Iron Priest is invaluable.
The regaining of wounds and then making those tanks hit on a better comes with two factors: Either the unit is Bracketed with low wounds it has less accuracy and now you make the accuracy normal again. Or the vehicle now hits on 2+.
The Vengeance of the Omnissiah is what I call: Angry Nerds!
And this becomes really funny when he charges into combat and has 7 attacks that cause 3 Damage each! That is Terminator killing swings!
I am always going to be a fan. I wish I had the above model... Looks like I will need to mod myself one...
That makes 11 Space Wolves Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 31.42% Completed. The total Completed is 36.24% Complete! Can I review them all?!
Thank you for reading!
