Hola amigos Feliz Inicio de Semana para todos ❤️ deseo que hayan pasando un hermoso fin de semana, yo estuve un tanto ocupada en algunos proyectos, uno de ellos fue la elaboración de una funda para una almohada en forma de U que se utiliza para los bebes y amamantar.
Esta almohada tiene muchos años conmigo, desde que nació mi primera y hija, desde siempre tuvo la misma funda ya que aqui no venden para ese modelo y tampoco habian emcontrado a alguien que supiera como hacer una. Como temgo acá varios pedazos telas de sabana pense en hacerle una funda yo misma, este es mi Segundo Proyecto de Costura
Para elaborar esta funda, busque esos pedazos de tela de sabana que tenia y decidi trabajar con un color claro. Lo primero que hice fue despegar todo el ruflado (que es con lo que iba a trabajar) de la tela blanca de forro; esto no me llevo tanto tiempo porque lo corte con tijeras.
Ahora de la funda vieja tome las medidas de ancho y largo, ya que este sera mi patrón.
Como esos pedazos de tela no son anchos sino largo me toco unirlos para asi poder tener el ancho que necesitaba, corte segun las medidas que había tomado, la tela estaba muy arrugada y como vi en algunos tutoriales lo mas recomendable es planchar para poder medir y coser debidamente. Entonces planche, luego uni y aguante con unos ganchos, asi me quedo listo solo de pasar costura.
Con la máquina de coser, uni ambos pezados de tela..
Con los dos pedazos de tela unidos logre obtener el ancho y largo necesario. La funda vieja fue mi patrón, asi que la marque por la parte trasera y asi poder cortar con mayor seguridad.
Repeti el mismo procedimiento para la otra cara de la funda. Ahora bien, esta funda trae una especie de tapa en forma de media luna, que ayuda que no se vea ni se salga la almohada. Asi que corte también esta tapa guiandome por la que trae la funda original.
Ya tenia mis 3 piezas, el siguiente paso era unir todas las partes.
La pieza con forma de media luna debía llevar una orilla, asi que se la hice con mucho miedo 😂 doble lo mas angosto posible aguabte con unas pinzas y le pase la máquina, lentamente...
Era momento de unir todas las piezas y aqui tuve mas miedo todavía. Organice las 3 partes, colocando la media luna en el medio (asi era la funda original), aguante todo com las pinzas y decidí empezar a coser de abajo para arriba, primero toda la parte que parece una U. Para luego coser la parte de arriba.
Con todo unido me di cuenta que debia hacerle un dobladillo a una parte, esto lo debi hacer antes de unir las 3 piezas.. pero bueno...
Le doble sencillo y pase la máquina, para evitar que se salieran los hilos con las lavadas ☺️
Asi finalice, este trabajo lo hice en todo un dia. Me gusto mucho el resultado quedo perfecta.. Les quise compartir esta segunda costura, como saben estoy iniciando, siento que estoy mejorando cada dia y esa es la meta ❤️
La verdad no se si me explique lo suficientemente bien, pero trate de hacerlo lo mejor posible, de igual forma estoy atenta a cualquier sugerencia o comentario, aqui estoy en fase aprendizaje...

Hello friends, Happy beginning of the week to all of you ❤️ I hope you had a great weekend, I was a little busy with some projects, one of them was the elaboration of a cover for a pillow in the shape of a U that is used for babies and breastfeeding.
This pillow has been with me for many years, since my first daughter was born, it has always had the same pillow cover since they don't sell it here and they hadn't found anyone who knew how to make one. As I have here several pieces of sheet fabrics I thought of making a cover myself, this is my Second Sewing Project.
To make this pillowcase, I looked for those pieces of sheet fabric I had and decided to work with a light color. The first thing I did was to peel off all the ruffle (which is what I was going to work with) from the white lining fabric; this didn't take me that long because I cut it with scissors.
Now from the old cover I took the width and length measurements, as this will be my pattern.
As those pieces of fabric are not wide but long I had to join them to have the width I needed, I cut according to the measurements I had taken, the fabric was very wrinkled and as I saw in some tutorials the best thing to do is to iron it to be able to measure and sew properly. So I ironed, then I joined and held with hooks, so I was ready just to sew.
With the sewing machine, I joined both sides of the fabric...
With the two pieces of fabric joined together, I was able to get the width and length I needed. The old pillowcase was my pattern, so I marked it on the back so I could cut more safely.
Repeat the same procedure for the other side of the pillowcase. Now, this pillowcase comes with a kind of half-moon shaped cover, which helps to keep the pillow from showing or coming out. So I also cut this cover using the one that comes with the original pillowcase.
Now I had my 3 pieces, the next step was to put all the parts together.
The crescent shaped piece had to have an edge, so I did it with a lot of fear 😂 I folded the narrowest possible aguabte with tweezers and passed the machine, slowly ....
It was time to put all the pieces together and here I was even more afraid. I organized the 3 parts, placing the half moon in the middle (that's how the original cover was), held everything with the clamps and decided to start sewing from the bottom up, first the part that looks like a U. Then I sewed the top part.
With everything together I realized that I had to hem one part, I should have done this before joining the 3 pieces together... but well....
I folded it simple and put it through the machine, to avoid the threads coming out with the washes. ☺️
This is how I finished, I did this work in one day. I really liked the result and it was perfect. I wanted to share with you this second sewing, as you know I'm just starting, I feel that I'm improving every day and that's the goal ❤️
The truth is I don't know if I explained myself well enough, but I tried to do my best, anyway I am attentive to any suggestions or comments, I am still in the learning phase...
