[ESP-ING] The Soledad Square

La plaza La Soledad en Maracay, fue construida aproximadamente para 1970 y algo aproximadamente, esta Plaza está construida en una zona del norte de la ciudad, realizada para una clase media alta, antiguamente se construyó para darle vida a este sector, porque se necesitaba una parte de pulmón verde y que mejor que hacer una plaza allí para sus habitantes las personas que residían en esa zona.

La plaza cuenta con muchos árboles grandes ceiba, entre otros, palmeras, gramas y zona verde que ayuda a darle un poco de aire fresco a la zona, esta Plaza cuenta con un clima muy agradable ya que la zona es muy fresca y la mayoría de las veces el clima es muy fresco para esta zona, Así que se puede pasar un rato tranquilo en ella, cuenta con parques para niños en este caso cuenta con dos pequeños parques uno para niño más pequeño y otro para niños un poco más grandes, estos fueron elaborados recientemente no son tan antiguos, Se nota por la estructura que tienen.

La plaza cuenta con asientos de cemento que fueron construidos hace poco diría yo que unos 5 años para acá y asientos de hierro que eran los que antiguamente se utilizaban yo tenía muchos años Que no iba a esta Plaza creo que la última vez que fue mis hijos estaban pequeños y fuimos a ver una atracciones de Navidad que habían en ese entonces algunas veces en estas plazas hacen eventos para niños y recuerdo haberlos llevado para ese entonces a uno de ellos.

Otro de los cambios que note fueron las luces de la plaza, antes tenían como una especie de bombillos altos, esta vez es como un rectángulo que tiene luces Pero se ve que están dañados, que la gente los ha dañado así que me imagino que de noche está plaza no cuenta con suficiente luz artificial para alumbrar a la misma.

Otra cosa que me di cuenta fue que en esta Plaza tiene como una especie de techo en un lado con vigas eso no lo tenía antes Y actualmente sí lo tiene, o realmente no sé si lo tenía Porque no me había fijado en ello son muy pocas las veces que he ido y tenía años que no venía a esta Plaza también me di cuenta que en esta Plaza hacen actividades deportivas pues en ese momento estaban unas personas que iban a hacer yoga y todas eran mujeres por lo que quería unirme a ellas.

La plaza también contaba con espacio para hacer ejercicio sin embargo me di cuenta que la mayoría de las máquinas están dañadas y solo quedan funcionando dos que una es la de hacer abdominales y la otra tipo bicicleta esta Plaza Está rodeada por una zona Residencial donde hay muchos edificios muy pocas casas pero también hay muchos restaurantes de hecho creo que hay más restaurantes que casas y edificios ya se ha vuelto una zona comercial por lo que la plaza es propicia para que las personas puedan disfrutar del aire libre.

Uno de los comercios que tiene más años aquí, si no es que fue el primero y esta ubicada adonde en rodo el frente de la plaza, es la panadería Mansión de New York una panadería muy reconocida en Maracay la cual es para gustos exquisitos y es la más visitada de toda el área pues está abierta desde la mañana hasta la noche, aquí pueden encontrar desde desayunos almuerzos cena además de panes y toda la línea que deseen, un lugar grato para compartir.

El busto que se encuentra en esta Plaza es de Cristóbal Mendoza, realmente la plaza se llama así, pero todos los Maracayeros la conocemos como Plaza La Soledad; Cristóbal Mendoza fue el primer presidente de Venezuela y de hecho fue el que dijo que le otorgaran el título de libertador a Simón Bolívar, también está una pequeña fuente mas lejana, con un angelito que no funciona, les invito a visitar esta pequeña plaza para que pasen un momento agradable.

La Soledad Square in Maracay was built around 1970 or so. Located in the northern part of the city, it was designed for the upper-middle class. It was originally built to revitalize this area, as there was a need for a green space—and what better way to do that than by creating a square for the residents living in that neighborhood?

The plaza features many large ceiba trees, as well as palm trees, grassy areas, and green spaces that help provide some fresh air to the area. It has a very pleasant climate, as the area is quite cool, and most of the time the weather is refreshingly cool for this part of town. So you can spend a peaceful time there. It has playgrounds for children—in this case, two small playgrounds, one for younger children and another for slightly older children. These were built recently and aren’t very old; you can tell by their structure.

The plaza has concrete benches that were built fairly recently—I’d say about five years ago—and iron benches, which were the ones used in the past. It had been many years since I’d been to this plaza; I think the last time I went, my kids were little, and we went to see some Christmas attractions that were there at the time. Sometimes they hold events for kids in these plazas, and I remember taking them to one of those events back then.

Another change I noticed was the square’s lighting. Before, they had tall light bulbs; now there’s a rectangular structure with lights, but you can see they’re damaged—people have broken them—so I imagine that at night, the square doesn’t have enough artificial light to illuminate it properly.

Another thing I noticed was that this plaza has a sort of roof on one side with beams—it didn’t have that before, but it does now, or actually, I don’t know if it used to have one because I hadn’t noticed it—I’ve only been there a few times, and it had been years since I’d been to this plaza. I also noticed that they hold sports activities here; at that moment, there were some people about to do yoga, and they were all women, so I wanted to join them.

The plaza also had a space for exercising, but I noticed that most of the machines are broken and only two are still working—one is an ab machine and the other is a stationary bike. This plaza is surrounded by a residential area with many buildings and very few houses, but there are also many restaurants; in fact, I think there are more restaurants than houses and buildings. It has already become a commercial area, so the plaza is a great place for people to enjoy the outdoors .

One of the longest-standing businesses here—if not the very first—located right on the front of the plaza, is the *** Mansión de New York***, a well-known bakery in Maracay that caters to discerning tastes and is the most visited in the entire area, as it’s open from morning until night. Here you can find breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as breads and any other items you might want—a pleasant place to share a meal.

The bust in this plaza is of Cristóbal Mendoza; the plaza is actually named after him, but all of us from Maracay know it as Plaza La Soledad; Cristóbal Mendoza was Venezuela’s first president, and in fact, he was the one who proposed that Simón Bolívar be granted the title of “Liberator.” There’s also a small fountain a little further away, with a little angel statue that doesn’t work.
