Hello writing community:

Today I join the initiative to write between love and letters in this writing event focused on the most romantic time and city in history: Paris in 1900. I tell you a fictional story where two people with different ways of life fall in love and this action changes their lives.

Amandine and André

It was a warm autumn sunset on the banks of the River Seine and there stood Amandine Laffitte, as lovely and worthy of love as her name suggests, holding a cup of tea in an elegant café in the Parisian city. The feathers of her hat and the lace of her dress spoke volumes about her social background.

A few metres away from her stood André, a man as virile as his name itself, with his canvases and paints making his brush dance to the rhythm of the rippling water. His jet suit set him apart from the other dull grey formal suits of the aristocrats. His casual demeanour had aroused Amandine's fearsome curiosity, and there she struck up a conversation with André, where they became attached to each other after the first exchange of glances.

Long walks by the river and long hours of picnics accompanied the love that arose between these two people; they had to face more than one classist displeasure in front of family and society to save their feelings.

Amandine had been promised by her parents to Alphonse, a young man from high society but who was not interested in her. He only wanted to have fun with any woman who crossed his path and decided to help her in her secret meetings with her beloved.

Many months passed until they discovered the presence of a new baby on the way and this changed everything. Between the happiness for their baby and the concern for everything that was coming, they decided to tell their families.

The aristocratic family did not accept such a situation and expelled Amandine from the house. On the other hand, Alphonse's family welcomed her as another daughter and the beautiful Adelaide was born there, despite the scorn of her maternal ancestry and the displeasure of her mother.

The birth of Adelaide was a complete reversal of Amandine's family's previous behaviour, as the tenderness of this new hope for life softened her maternal grandparents who eventually surrendered to her plea for forgiveness.

This story is fiction.

Once again, the power of love over all rules imposed by man was evident, contrasting with the actions of the family who determined not to confront the prevailing society of that Belle époque, but then gave in to the power of the family, which is greater than anything in the world.

Fortunately in our days we do not have to deal with these prohibitions, although we have other problems, but they surely do not represent barriers to true love.

Hoy me uno a la iniciativa para escribir entre amor y letras en este evento de escritura enfocado en la época y ciudad más romántica de la historia: el París de 1900. Les relato una historia de ficción donde dos personas con forma de vida diferentes se enamoran y esta acción les cambia la viva.

Amandine y André

Era un ocaso cálido de otoño en la rivera del río Sena y allí estaba Amandine Laffitte, tan adorable y digna del amor como su nombre sugiere sosteniendo una tasa de té en un elegante café de la parisina ciudad. Las plumas de su sombrero y los encajes de su vestido hablaban por sí solos de su procedencia social.

A pocos metros de ella estaba André, hombre tan viril como su nombre en sí, con sus lienzos y pinturas haciendo danzar su pincel al compás de las ondas del agua. Su traje azabache lo resaltaba por entre los otros aburridos grises trajes formales de los aristócratas. Su porte desenfadado había generado en Amandine una temible curiosidad y allí se lanzó a entablar una conversación con André donde quedaron prendidos uno del otro tras el primer cruce de miradas.

Escandalosa relación iniciaron estos representantes exponentes del amor; largos paseos por el río y extensas horas de picnic acompañaron el amor que surgió entre estas dos personas; más de un disgusto clasista tuvieron que enfrentar frente a familia y sociedad para salvar sus sentimientos.

Amandine había sido prometida por sus padres a Alphonse, un joven de la alta sociedad pero que no estaba interesado en ella. Él sólo quería divertirse con cuanta mujer se cruzase en su camino y decidió ayudarla en sus encuentros a escondidas con su amado.

Así pasaron muchos meses hasta que descubren la presencia de un nuevo ser en camino y esto cambiaba todo. Entre la felicidad por su bebé y la preocupación por todo lo que acarriaba, decidieron contar a sus familias. La familia aristócrata no aceptó tal situación y expulsaron a Amandine de la casa. En cambio, la familia de Alphonse la recibió y acogió en su seno como otra hija y allí nació la bella Adelaide, a pesar de los desprecios de su ascendencia materna y disgustos que sufrió su madre.

El nacimiento de Adelaide fue un vuelco total al comportamiento anterior de la familia de Amandine, pues la ternura de esta nueva esperanza de vida logró suavizar a sus abuelos maternos que terminaron por rendirse ante la súplica del perdón.

Esta historia es una ficción.

Se evidenciaba una vez más el poder del amor por encima de toda regla impuesta por el hombre, contrastando con la actuación de la familia que determinó no enfrentar a la sociedad imperante en aquella Belle época, pero luego accedió ante el poder de la familia que es más grande que cualquier cosa en el mundo.

Por suerte en nuestros días no tenemos que lidiar con estas prohibiciones, aunque tenemos otros problemas, pero que seguramente no representan barreras para el amor verdadero.
