Hello community.
Here is a proposal for weekend reading according to the suggestions offered. I hope you like it:
"She and I".
I have been in a relationship for three years with a beautiful old lady. She has become my friend who listens to you when you have a problem and tries to do what she can to help. I reciprocate with her and treat her with all my affection. I take care of her so that she will last me for a long time, because since she came into my life my environment has changed positively.
Podolsk 142 is her name and she has been in my family for many years. First she was a companion of my paternal grandmother. I remember going to my grandparents' house as a child and seeing my grandmother sitting in front of the machine making beautiful designs for my sister and me (in my memory I visualize some of the dresses she made for us). When grandma died, my friend passed on to my oldest aunt. Here she made beautiful clothes for my cousins and even gave services to some clients, which helped in the economy of the house. When Aunt Mirtha went to live in Madrid, she left her in the care of Aunt Mary. This friend of my family stayed by Aunt Mary's side until her death. Then, by family decision, my friend came to live with me and here we are fostering our friendship with every moment we spend together.
As a child I had my maternal grandmother at home who sewed on her machine and although she never took sewing classes she was very good at this art. I would spend long hours sitting by her side watching her sewing, helping her with some of the steps and that's how I learned how to use it. Mima made clothes for all of us in the family, she also sewed pieces of clothing, sold them and with that she helped to support the house. I still have her machine, I keep it as a souvenir, because it is very worn out and I have not found a mechanic who knows how to repair it, since I have tried several and they do not know how to make it work properly.
I think that the passion for sewing is something that runs in my family (on both sides) and although I have not received studies about key aspects, I do it by intuition.
Sewing by machine transports me, it takes me away from real life for a moment; from problems, worries and obligations. Although sometimes I use it out of necessity, most of the time I look for a pretext to take it out of its drawer to take a breath and there we both dream and create.
One of the first jobs we did together was at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. We designed several nasobucos for the whole family, in different colors and sizes, because the little ones also had to use these accessories. We have repaired fabrics and modified others, always useful for the enjoyment of the family.
For its conservation I clean it with a wet cloth and then a dry one, I lubricate it with its oil so that it is not thirsty and its structures do not squeak. She instead gives me beautiful stitches to the rhythm of the pedal movement.
Many joys and enjoyments, besides getting us out of trouble (not only me, but my whole family) has given me this great friend, that is why she is my most precious asset that I always take care of and embrace. I would like to have more time with her, but responsibilities do not allow me to do so, anyway she knows that she is my favorite and I intend to preserve her so that she will last in my family for more generations.
Thank you for your time reading and have a good weekend.
