Mi hijo tenía en su habitación, este pequeño matero o jarrón de barro que usaba una vez tuvo una plantita suculenta muy pequeña también, que luego de morir de forma inexplicable (según él) lo empezó a utilizar como porta inciensos, porque le gusta tener tener esos aromas en su habitación.
Pero yo vi esto y me dio una lástima increíble, no podía ver esa tristeza de escena. Le prometí que le iba a hacer o improvisar un porta inciensos, pero que me dejara restaurar este matero para darle alegría y que sea un objeto decorativo que se pueda lucir en cualquier espacio. Lo hice y me gustó tanto el resultado que realmente creo que me voy a quedar con él, y hoy se los quiero compartir en esta publicación, contándoles el paso a paso.
My son had in his room, this small pot or clay vase that he used once had a very small succulent plant, which after dying in an inexplicable way (according to him) he began to use it as an incense holder, because he likes to have those scents in your room.
But I saw this and he gave me incredible pity, I couldn't see that scene sadness. I promised him that I would make or improvise an incense holder, but that he would let me restore this flower pot to give him joy and make it a decorative object that can be displayed in any space. I did it and I liked the result so much that I really think I'm going to keep it, and today I want to share it with you in this post, telling you the step by step.

Decidí utilizar pintura al frío de color blanco para hacer un fondo y también para que formara parte del diseño. Usualmente utilizo una marca de pintura al frio muy conocida, colombiana, pero cuando fui a buscar mis pinturas este color estaba muy seco y aunque intenté no logré ablandarla. Mandé a comprar una con mi hija y me trajo esta marca que no conocía.
I decided to use white cold paint to make a background and also to form part of the design. I usually use a well-known brand of cold paint, Colombian, but when I went to get my paints this color was very dry and although I tried I couldn't soften it. I sent to buy one with my daughter and she brought me this brand that I did not know.
Para dar el fondo y lograr llegar a un color uniforme me costó mucho y no sé si es por la marca o efectivamente es difícil cubrir bien la maceta de barro, pero tuve que dar 3 capas de pintura para lograr el blanco que buscaba.
To give the background and achieve a uniform color, it was very difficult for me and I don't know if it's because of the brand or it is indeed difficult to cover the clay pot well, but I had to apply 3 coats of paint to achieve the white I was looking for.
Así quedó la maceta de barro con las 3 capas de pintura, quedé bastante satisfecha con como quedó.
This is how the clay pot turned out with the 3 layers of paint, I was quite satisfied with how it turned out.
El diseño que pensé era que la maceta tenga dos colores y para trazar la línea divisoria me apoyé en un envase que yo consideré tenía la altura que yo quería para hacer la franja de color. Entonces, ahí apoyo mi mano con un bolígrafo para hacer una línea estable y voy girando la maceta y así logro una línea estable que incluso coincide el inicio con el final.
The design that I thought of was for the pot to have two colors and to draw the dividing line I leaned on a container that I considered had the height that I wanted to make the color strip. So, there I support my hand with a pen to make a stable line and I rotate the pot and thus I achieve a stable line that even coincides with the beginning and the end.
Ahora a pintar el segundo color del diseño que es color violeta. Empiezo con lo más difícil que es el borde de la línea, lo que hago es entrar desde un poco antes, llegar a la línea y salir. Así hasta terminar.
Now to paint the second color of the design, which is violet. I start with the most difficult thing, which is the edge of the line, what I do is enter from a little earlier, get to the line and leave. So until finished.
Así quedan los dos colores que escogí para mi diseño, me gusta mucho el contraste de ambos colores.
This is how the two colors I chose for my design look, I really like the contrast of both colors.
Este es el material que decidí utilizar, se llama Pan de Oro, es una lámina de un material de color dorado que está adherido a una lámina, pero este color dorado se separa y se fija donde quieras con pega, usualmente se usa una pega especial, pero yo no tenía entonces utilicé una pega de uñas que estaba bastante espesa, ya no me servía para las uñas, entonces intenté usarlo con el pan de oro y resulta que funcionó.
This is the material that I decided to use, it is called Gold Leaf, it is a sheet of a gold colored material that is adhered to a sheet, but this golden color separates and is fixed where you want with glue, usually a special glue is used , but I didn't have one, so I used a nail paste that was quite thick, it wasn't good for my nails anymore, so I tried using it with the gold leaf and it turned out that it worked.
Donde unen los dos colores pasé la brocha del pegamento, ya que estaba espeso se prestó ideal para esto, porque lo importante es que no sea una pega muy húmeda, y si es el caso que la pega es muy húmeda lo que hay que hacer es dejar que se seque hasta que quedé como pegajosa.
Corté un pedacito del pan de oro para manipularlo mejor, lo pego en el lugar donde coloqué la pega, y luego lo desprendo de un tirón, y el color dorado queda pegado fácilmente. Así lo repetí por toda la unión de los colores, e incluso hice otra vuelta completa.
Where the two colors join, I brushed the glue, since it was thick it was ideal for this, because the important thing is that it is not a very wet glue, and if it is the case that the glue is very wet what you have to do is let it dry until it was kind of sticky.
I cut a small piece of the gold leaf to handle it better, I glue it in the place where I placed the glue, and then I yank it off, and the gold color sticks easily. I repeated it like this throughout the union of colors, and even made another complete turn.
Este es mi producto final, quedé muy feliz con el resultado, incluso quedó mejor de lo que me imaginé en el diseño, principalmente por el uso del pan de oro, que da mucho brillo y elegancia. Es un material de mucha calidad.
This is my final product, I was very happy with the result, it was even better than I imagined in the design, mainly due to the use of gold leaf, which gives a lot of shine and elegance. It is a high quality material.
Para cuidar y preservar mi nueva maceta, lo que decidí fue plantar en un envase plástico que pudiera meter y sacar cuando lo desee, y que me permitiera no tener tanto contacto con la tierra y su humedad.
La maceta quedó tan bella, que no quise llenarla de tierra ya que cuando regamos la planta puede pasar que la humedad se traspasa al barro que lo absorbe fácilmente, y puede alterar o dañar el color con manchas.
To care for and preserve my new pot, what I decided was to plant it in a plastic container that I could put in and take out whenever I wanted, and that would allow me not to have so much contact with the earth and its humidity.
The pot turned out so beautiful that I didn't want to fill it with soil because when we water the plant it can happen that the humidity is transferred to the mud that absorbs it easily, and can alter or damage the color with spots.
