Hello everyone again! I am back with another Inktober drawing today morning. It is afternoon now but I I drew this earlier after having my breakfast.
The prompt for Inktober Day 21 is 'Hero'
Today I wanted to make not just a mere drawing but an appreciation post dedicated to the cleaner staffs. That includes everyone like the garbage collectors, people in charge of sweeping, the toilet cleaners and those who mop the indoor floors like the grocery stores and hospitals especially the emergency department where its a constant, non-stop work.
They are one of the backbones of the society because they are in charge of keeping the world safe for everyone. Their work is honorable and deserves recognition. I remember during school in primary, my teacher taught us about them and mentioned how honorable their work is. I have held onto that ever since. So that's why I'm drawing them today for the theme 'Hero' as I consider all of them heroes.
Coincidentally, as I was going out like an hour after making this drawing, I actually saw one of the cleaner aunties I didn't see for a long time as she was shifted to a different area. She immediately noticed my family too and we exchanged quick greetings and I was glad to see her well. She's a very nice, friendly aunty and always checked on us with a smile. I've known her since my school days.
The Process
I started my drawing with the face of the cleaner staff. Today I wanted to draw someone who cleans the roads. The reason is because my father was actually one of the staffs and it was a very labour intensive job. It's exhausting as it requires a ton of physical energy to get the job done.
Then, I drew the rest of his body wearing a vest. It's a high visibility safety vest in neon yellow colour so it is safer for them as cars and other vehicles may come and go on the road. He is also wearing a cap as that's needed due to the hot sun shining above. The morning sun can be brutal to them.
I also drew some garbage bags. They're not the regular black bags. The bags used to collect the dirt and leaves swept are actually massive heavy duty plastic bags and the ones I have seen were yellow. I have gotten my hands on them before and they're of very good quality. After that, I drew some details on the roadside. This is supposed to be a highway road. I drew some dry leaves on the road side. I also added the heavy duty broom they use and some shadow details on the entire artwork.
This is the final outcome.
I'm ending my post with a salute to all the cleaning staffs of the world. Thank you for making the world a better place. The world can't do without you ongoing contribution. Also, thank you for dropping by and gav a great day ahead!
