Hello everyone! I recently went to a nursery because my mother wanted to look for some plants. She was looking for a particular plant but it was not available there as they had only flowering plants mostly. It was a random visit as the nursery happened to be on the way during a journey to a different place far away. We went there right after the rain has just stopped. It was a little muddy on some parts and there were puddles but I avoided them.
This is how the nursery looks. There were so many plants from little ones to those in larger pots. They all had rain drops on them which I think added to their beauty.
These are some red roses. The last one was fully bloomed. They were so vibrant and looked rich in red. As you can see from the photos, they were little plants potted in seedling bags waiting to be repotted later on.
As I was taking pictures, I saw this adorable kitty looking at me. He had little bootlegs and seemed like he was wearing a mask. He looked like a miniature Batman.
I also saw some eye catching marigolds. They were in both yellow and orange. They were all looking so round and puffed. Their petals are edible and can be used as garnish in meal platters. However I would be careful if it is not homegrown plants as we never know whether the nursery staffs spray it with harmful fertilizers or not.
The above pink flowers are called Dianthus flowers and it seems like they thrive in tropical weather. I did some light research and found that they need at least 6 hours of direct sun daily. It seemed perfect until I noted that it may have mild toxicity for pets like cats and dogs. So if I have one of them, I wouldn't risk it but it can be a great addition to our garden if we don't have such pets.
As I walked further and arrived at a larger area, I saw tons of these flowers in different colours. They are called Madagascar periwinkle, also known as Vinca flowers. It was so cool to see them in different shades paired with different centers too. Some were white with yellow centers while some white flowers had red centers. I also saw them in other colours like pale pink with red centers and vibrant red with yellow centers.
This is the hibiscus flower that every Malaysian knows as it is our national flower. It is called bunga raya in Malay language which translates directly to celebration flower. It's usually in red but here it is in orange which is a rare sight. This is the only picture of it that I could capture with clarity.
These are some purple petunias. This last picture is a little blurry but I still wanted to include it as it's the only one that's purple and in a cool shade. It was in a hanging pot so it was hard for me to reach it since I'm a short person. They were a bunch of pretty looking flowers looking royal in purple.
So that is my little adventure in the nursery. I didn't even edit any of them and just posted everything as they were. It was a pleasant experience to be surrounded by many colourful flowers. Thank you for dropping by and have a vibrant day!
