Hello everyone! Yesterday I wanted to draw something to keep my Inktober streak but I fell asleep with the lights on instead. When I opened my eyes, it was 2.00 am. It's the next day today and I did make my drawing.
The prompt for Inktober Day 20 is 'Lounge'
I chose to draw a cat relaxing with his blanket while sitting comfortably on a chair and reading his book. At first I thought of just drawing an armchair in a reading room with a bookshelf in the background. However I changed my mind and wanted to add some life to the artwork so I drew a cute cat reading book instead.
I started the drawing with the cutest part of the artwork which is the cat.
Then I drew his little book and started on his chair too. The cat turned out to be a little chubby but I think that adds to the theme.
I finished drawing the chair. Then I also added a comfy looking blanket to keep the cat warm. I gave it a random checked grid design to make it look a little more obvious instead of a plain appearance. I just realized now that the legs of the chair look like they're tentacles of a large octopus.
Then it was time to add some shading on the chair. As I was making many lines, I noticed that my pen was almost out of ink. I just refilled it about two weeks ago. I guess doing the inktober challenge I depleting my ink exponentially faster than before. It used to last for months.
I love lamps so I drew one to fill the paper more. This is my finished ink only version of the drawing.
I could have left it that way. However I missed using oil pastels so I thought I might as well add some bright colours to my drawing. It was fun and I really enjoyed it, until my family came up with a sudden plan that we were going somewhere soon.
So I had to rush and finish it up. I ended up colouring the background in a breeze and did some final touch ups. Everyone was getting ready while I was trying to finish my drawing. Anyway I was done at last and this is the final outcome.
That sums up my Inktober adventure of the day. Thank you for dropping by and I hope that you have a great day!
