Still loitering above downtown San Diego in a tiny helicopter back in April 2007.
First, we're looking north, toward North Island and Point Loma in the fuzzy distance.
Then, we're looking south toward the Coronado Bridge and the Strand. Before the bridge was built in 1969, the only way to drive onto Coronado Island was to go further south - on the left - and then drive up the Strand (that white strip on the right). Or you could just take a ferry from downtown San Diego. :-) But it's a much more interesting drive the other way. Done it dozens of times.
