If life beats you down, how do you fight back?
Those who have the ability to resist suffering usually have a happy lives and a success career. They often show a positive response after having a traumatic experience, which is called “post traumatic growth” in psychology.
The ability is not native, but is attained by training. The scientific way to strengthen it is a method called “PPP”, which represents “Personalization”, “Permanence” and “Pervasiveness”.
Don’t blame ourselves when encountering a distressing experience. We are inclined to think that those mistakes are made by ourselves. Instead, we should realize that what happened to us don’t mean this thing is caused by what we did.
Remind us of the trauma not be permanent. We often think that suffering would last very long. Actually, everyone has a system of “Psychological Balance.” Over time, the sadness would retreat and we would become refreshed.
Keep hinting that I’m important in the process of restoring faith. We need to stay together with those who care about us, feeling the warmness and love.
Find our goal. We should picture a beautiful future vision and head toward it. Once we set a goal, we would feel our lives is interesting and we are willing to get it through our effort.
Accumulate small wins. We can start with small things and think about what we get from these things. Over time, we could increasingly build faith from these small wins.
Sometimes we could be weak. But, most of the time we are stronger than we imagine.
